If you create a save file with the Keep, can it be downloaded for Dragon Age II? I'd rather not trudge through Awakening just to have a new world state for that game.

The Keep is only for DAI and beyond, sorry. DAO, DAA, and DA2 will most likely never ever support the Keep. The development for those games has been over for years now and I doubt they will get anything more.

You don't have to play awakening if you don't want to you can just take yoyr save directly from Origins itself and put it through as I did that in my last playthrough I didn't bother playing through awakening as my Warden died killing the Archdemon as I never went through with Morrigan's ritual. Awakening is just an expansion an extra if you want to play it kind of mission and have it affect the story you don't have to play it if you don't want to. I'm suer it would work if you want to do it with a living warden as well though.
