Hey guys,

 

I found a command called "talk" that makes it easier to use Text Chat on PC to message other players. You no longer have to type say in, since using the command "talk" will open the miniconsole (even if you don't have the console enabled), and prefill the word say. You simply type and press enter and away the message goes.

 

Someone on reddit made a guide out of it if you're interested. If you use tankmaster's compiler from mod manager's data folder (tankmaster_coalesce) instead of gibbed you can drop the modified BioInput.xml into the data/override folder and inject this keybind into mods.

This should make it easier to chat on PC. You don't even need console, it's simply a coalesced swap like normal keybindings.

this will surely save me half a second every time i taunt a teammate, which doesn't sound like much but it adds up

Nice, reminds me of Borderlands 1 chat box, sometimes it even shows your console commands as chat message .

It is not working while you are in the lobby, it works from wave 1 onwards though.

I didn't put it where the article said to put it, exactly.  I moved it to sfxgamemodebase under the screenshot binding I added, and it works in the lobby now too.

FYI the shot command takes bitmaps and puts them in the documents/bioware/me3/biogame/screenshots folder. The game will lock up for several secodns on the the first shot.

Seriously, that video goes on forever. I'm sticking with typing "say" instead. I don't type and play anyway. But great for those that do.

Nope, shot works fine. Game will lock up on the first use and save files as bmp in documents/BioWare/me3/biogame/screenshots

I've tried using shot dozens of different times, never anything in that folder, oh well.

Typing is fine as it is... more importantly, does the text stay on screen any longer this way?
