Really depressed about PS3 version

I pre ordered DA:I on PS3 the moment it was available. I was so hyped. Got it, loved it, and have been enjoying it up until a few days ago when my love for DA was shattered.

I somehow missed hearing about Descent, and found Trespasser a few days before it released, however life of course got in the way, until a few days ago I remembered about the 2 DLC's. Now I don't have a whole lot of money, but I put some aside for the two DLC's, only to find that they aren't available on the PS3 version.. Needless to say, a lot of feelings washed over me at that moment.

If I had been told a year ago the developers wouldn't be putting all the story extensions, and most importantly the final ones on the PS3, I would  have just bought it for the PC. But without that knowledge, not enough money for a PS4, or a new DA:I from origin (only have enough money put aside for the expansions), and Dragon Age just feeling "right" on console, I opted for a little lesser graphics, but just as much enjoyment and got it for my PS3 instead. Bought the few expansions, and the free  ones, and played happily until a few days ago..

It's not much hope, but I'm trying to see if I can't get a code for Origin from EA, wish me luck =/

Information that PS3 and XBOX360 won't anymore get DLC's and patches came somewhere around July, but it was somewhat hidden article about save importer (and patch info was only found in one of sub-forums here) so no wonder that you didn't know about it before.

It's very unfortunate, I have youtubed some of Trespasser and find it almost mandatory to have. It's pretty much epilogue of the game and contains so much information that likely will be base of DA4. I think that Descent is more of stand-alone DLC I'd say, but Trespasser is very tied to DAI and happenings in Dragon Age as whole.

At the moment I think best shot for PS3 and XBOX360 players who haven't thrown their DAI's to trash and sweared to never buy another Bioware game again is to wait until they upgrade for PS4 or XBONE and buy GOTY edition of the game for that console so it becomes cheaper than buying game and all DLC's independently (although Bioware does give you "free" Jaws of Hawkon if you already own it on old gen console) and then continue their saves on new console via save importer. But it kind sucks that you still have to buy game again although you already own it and wait until you have money/willingness to upgrade your console.

Yeah, I feel for y'all. The cross-gen phase has had some messy results across the board, but BioWare ending DLC support for PS3/360 is one of the more dire examples to be sure. As sales dried up for previous systems, investors wanted less and less to do with them -- all fine and dandy, except that ending support mid-cycle like this is... pretty bad.

I would echo what Panda said. And perhaps if you purchase a PS4 or X1 months down the road the GOTY edition for Inquisition will be reasonably cheap, too. ~$40 by March is my guess.

I have a ps3 and played the game many times.

The game of the year edition will be released in October for $59.99. From what I read, it will have all dlc included. I only have the Jaws dlc. If I were to buy Descent and Trespasser along with the 2 armor packs plus the cost of a used copy of DAI, it would cost me about $65. So I will get the game of the year edition and save a couple of dollars when I get a ps4

My advice. Forget about DA for awhile and just save for a PS4/Xbone and then get the GOTY edition.

You got a raw deal OP :( Trespasser is a must-get, but it will be years until the next DA comes out so it's not like you have to urgently play it. Maybe just hold off until the PC version bundled with the DLC is on sale or the price has come down? :(

I remember whenever one of these threads popped up, the elitists would say "stop being poor, you hobo" and act all high and mighty. Did they all get kicked out of their elitist club?

Excellent job completely misrepresenting how those conversations went.

Anyway, I found nothing inflammatory about the OP's post, so the usual rhetoric doesn't apply here.

I feel for you, OP. Hopefully a situation like this never repeats itself.

"I opted for a little lesser graphics, but just as much enjoyment and got it for my PS3 instead."

Whatever gave you the idea of old-gen version issues being just a little lesser graphics? You really don't know what you're missing. I played on PS3 first because my fps were very low on PC (I bought it for both PS3 and PC) and I never really could enjoy it. Managed to buy a new computer a few months later and wow.

I don't think you'll get a code because, frankly, a lot of people had to buy the game for more than one platform and I don't think it makes sense for one particular person to just receive the PC version for free, but I hope you can buy the game and its DLCs so you can have the full experience and enjoy it to its fullest. The GOTY edition is coming, so there's that.

No, 1 particular poster did pretty much say exactly that many times.

I actually seem to remember more than one poster with the "stop being poor, you hobo" shtick.
