I don't really know what has been done yet or not in sci-fi, it's not my usual genre.
How about another species that considers emotion to be a flaw worth militarizing against and who dedicate their sciences towards devices and stuff to force on other species as well as any of their own species if they should disagree with those in power?
So like the Borg from Star Trek but perhaps without the cybernetic aspect while keeping the collectivism aspect?
Species like that doesn't sound that interesting to me. And I never really liked the Borg anyway. Horrid bunch.

Actually I mostly wanted to invite people to talk about what they wanted.
I don't have exact wish on new aliens, but I'd rather them not be simply villains, I want them to have complex society and culture and people be individuals within the society, some more villainous and some more heroic than others. I guess just like aliens in Milky Way.
