I hope some people can at least find Fenris returning (despite having been 'killed') to be understandable, he had lyrium etched into his body and we all know what lyrium can do so at least for him it shouldn't be that big of a stretch.

Michel has a chance of being dead, if you took a deal with Imshael.  Thus he may be a cameo, but a party member is unlikely (for which I'm glad, because although he's a fascinating character, he's also morally despicable to me--so unless his actions against the elves are addressed somehow, I wouldn't want him as a party member, and probably not as a romance even then).

 

As for the rest, I imagine the comic book cast does have a chance of appearing.  Dorian could very well reappear, and it would not surprise me one bit if Varric were to decide to go adventuring again, even if it doesn't really make much sense.  He's the one always telling everyone's story, after all.

 

I expect most of the party members to be people we've never met before, however.  And if we have met them, they probably will not be romance options.

I... wouldn't want to romance Calpernia. She's like a poor man's Anora - and this is coming from someone who has finished Origins 5 times, but has never married Anora.

The Gay Knight in Shining Armor – The topic on here convinced me. A Sir Loras-like pretty boy, all around nice guy.

 

Lace Harding… duh.

 

The Atoning Magister – Pretty hetero female blonde (cute, not fan service). Spirit healer. Did bad things as a magister, but is trying to atone for them and change the system.

 

Neutral

The Barbarian – Two-hander berserker. Male or female would work. If male, make them one of the hetero options for women maybe. Closer to Guts than say Conan.

 

The Shapeshifter – Dalish Elf male. Actually works, unlike the SS spec in Origins, bigger variety of animals, maybe a werebeast kind of thing.

 

The Fog Warrior – Ranger, disillusioned freedom fighter.

 

Evil

The Blackguard (so… Reaver?) – Female City Elf. Similar background to what happens in the City Elf in Origins. Hates humans, hates Dalish, hates… pretty much everybody .

 

The Tal-Vashoth – The cold-hearted mercenary. Kind of Zaeed in ME2. Assassin or bounty hunter kind of rogue

 

The Malificar – Sociopath, blood magic, mental manipulation/domination. Thrill-killer. Human, hetero rebel mage. Mix Bishop from NWN2, with Jack and Morinth from Mass Effect. Dash of Lucy from Elfen Lied

Probably the kind of evil companion I can tolerate (and respect) is Ammon Jerro.
Or someone that's not a borderlining psyco XD too much 'mwahahaaaa look at me i kick puppies' then.. no XD.
Perhaps that's why I can never hate Solas. He's an interesting antagonist, a mentor turned 'monster' to my Lavellan, the scale of destruction should he succeeds in his plan and everything. And my gosh the scale of his deception! He's been running his own operation right under our noses with his own spies within the inquisition gotta love that man
