You need to destroy some sort of cart with the new anchor power.
Once this is done , you need to move the fires around , so they push the dragon towards the gate.If I remember correctly the Inquisitor will say something once this is done.
Then you need to open the gates .

I was not able to free the dragon age first time because I had no idea how to set off the cart with the bombs to explode. I tried having the dragon spit on it, directing auto attacks at it, and so on until I gave up and just killed the dragon. Mind you, at least on nightmare, killing the dragon is a chore due to the influx of Qunari fighters who also plagued me. So freeing the dragon really is the best way to end the fight with as little resource use as possible, if done correctly of course.
It was only later after watching a youtube video that I realized we needed to use the anchor discharge burst to destroy the carts.

I think thers some bug there, if you play with gates before setting the fires it might not work. ALso if you keep rotating the fires after inquisitor said theyr set correctly(though they ofcourse arent). Either of this might tigger a bug i think. ALso BW trolls us again with fire resistan explode barrles >.<.
Thank ppl for godmode xD

Heh...I think you mean try to run since while in combat mode all you can do is move in slo mo.
Ugh, why to they keep thinking that is a such a grand idea?
As for the mission, it took me probably a good 10 tries first time through to finally think to use the anchor on the barrels. I figured, "Well, I haven't tried this yet, so let's see what it does." ![]()

And yes, for me too hardest part was to understand how to destroy those barrels ![]()

Nope, meant "run", 'cause my Inquisitor runs just fine, all you need is use this "exit the fight" (don't remember how exactly it's called)
On PC it's this one.

Except that causes everyone to disengage which, in my experience, then leads them to stand around and get killed. I shouldn't be automatically put into combat until/unless I attack something. It's just annoying, especially when combat mode (for some inane reason) causes your movement speed to slow down considerably.

Which is good, at least, but it makes no sense to me that you can't sprint in combat. I mean, that's when you need to move fast!
