Not really. The whole plan is totally insane. It maybe makes some sense in a world where a Loghain isn't currently winning a civil war and the blight isn't overrunning Thedas, but at that point Arl Teagan is the infinitely saner option.

The end goal is "find the Holy Grail". That the preface is "Here's a religious historian who's conviced it's totally truly real" doesn't make it less kooky, even if it turns out that scholar got swiped.

The whole thing falls apart unless you believe it exists. Maybe a wackjob cult thinks they have the Holy Grail and kidnapped an equally (if differently) crazy Chantry scholar. That doesn't prove the Holy Grail exists or it's worth travelling back and forth across Ferelden for it during a Blight.

It made sense. Isolde had the knights out searching for the Urn. The only way she or Teagan (if she is dead) will call them back from the search is if the Warden goes out to find it. So it makes perfect sense in getting the knights back to Redcliffe so they can have a force to combat Loghain's if necessary.

It doesn't fall apart. The point of the Warden seeking out Genetivi and the Urn is to confirm if it exists or not. Even if it doesn't exist, that means the most likely avenue of the Urn being found is closed off and proven to be dead end. That would then allow Isolde or Teagan to call of the search and send the knights to support the Warden's efforts.

Taking the Urn quest means the knights can return to Redcliffe. It makes perfect sense.

Hell I didn't want to go to Haven. The game literally would not proceed until I had. But thou must to the fullest.

It's actually possible to go to Haven before Redcliffe by seeking out Genetivi in advance. There's even a dialogue option somewhere to say that you'll seek out the Urn for profit. Thus, you can avoid the whole thing with Isolde/Teagan, and when either of them brings up the ashes you have the option to say that you already found the Urn, and Teagan will be surprised by it.

That's just doubling down and highlighting the stupidity. Teagan is actively dooming Ferelden and helping Loghain to win a civil war to effectively force the single two Grey Wardens in Ferelden to go on an absolutely insane quest to find an object whose existence is unproven and may not even work if it is found.

You have no choice but to do it. But it's sheer lunacy that you have to do it. You're on a quest that could take months, as the blight overruns Ferelden and Loghain consolidates power.

You've missed the point in an impressive way. You're forced to do the quest for an absolutely crazy reason.

I know that. It doesn't make the urn make anymore sense it just means you go on a wild goose chase for profit instead of a cure. Not better.

No, he's recalling the knights while the Warden looks for Genetivi and the Urn.

It's not crazy. It is the last thing that could work to revive Eamon, who is the best possible person to call a Landsmeet and help gather support. And had the Urn not been found, Teagan would have taken over and given support (Darkspawn Chronicles). So it isn't like Ferelden was put at risk by the mission.

Profit = money = power to use against the blight.

Which means squat if it takes so long searching for the urn that the blight overruns Fereldan.

Ahh that won't happen.
