I am actually waiting for this announcement on monday, as a geology student this interests me a lot.
They found a nice formation of rocks that indicate that there was water and nothing else. I'm willing to bet on it.
That would not be much of a news. They already know from some bedrocks that liquid water flowed across Mars surface, they even know where there is water ice on the planet right now.
