I decided to make a rift mage iq and i been checking in the forum, it seems to be that gear with high crit chance and damage is the way to go but i've spent hours farming for the hilted grip in the sulevin cradle and valeska's watch to no avail.

Oh God, yes. I'm not the person to ask, but I pretty much just mixed and matched the grips and blades on Lovias until I got the best I could muster. I'd use Encore, but without the Hilted Grip, Lovias is still working out best with what's available to me.

wrapped staff grip gives more crit than hilted i think. its also a random drop though

FYI, there are easier places to farm than Cradle of Sulevin and Valeska's Watch.  You just need to find any T3 chest in a large open area and you can do the save/reload thing where you leave one item in the chest.  My favorite spot is the top floor of the tower in the frozen lake in Emprise.  The bucket in front of the window respawns loot if you leave an item in it, and it's T3.  I got almost all of my T3 schematics that way (on PC).  Much faster than those other two.
