wow so much animosity towards Promotion Lords

I knew the name was trouble when I saw the real names behind it

I have a few promotions and can take alot in the game

I pug as much as I group and pull alot of low promotes with me

often enough that on 2x weekends I sometimes go private so I can get what I came for done

its nice to destroy a map on occasion but I usually spend my time making sure low promotes stays alive

I have checked my stats and according to stats most of the people in my group have 2x the kills because I let the low promotes have em

I can see that I am stereotyped by my stats

just like everyone else when we help its not usually even noticed

its treated like we owe barrier or have to kill the thing you can't handle even though we are low level

skill and time in game have taught us to make it look like we didn't plan it or wait to throw that ability

and we usually want to look good so we dont say wow that was close if I didnt get that cooldown I was done

I talk and try to suggest things but have always got the reply F^%K^%%! you dont know me

now I show what I want to teach and people dont like that either

example is the Alchy I was told not to get the ice potion on her and that is ridiculously effective

Hey man, keep doing you. If you help people keep it up.
Myself, I was always puging to help new players. I know alot of people on here view me differently but I would usually pass up playing with the friends I made through games just to help a newbie random.
Like I said. Keep it up.

P.S: the ice flask is awesome with Shadow Strike

I prefer fire flask with Shadow Strike or Flank Attack though

To get back to the original question, because I don't like to see drama and mud-slinging

Play in public games, mic up and ask questions. If one person is a jerk, remember your question and ask it in the next random group. I have found that the majority of the people on here are at least somewhat helpful. And then here is the important part - if they give you good information, don't argue with them about it. Just try it out. There are a million different builds on characters, and all of them are dependent on play style. I have listened to two of my friends argue over and over (for months) on fadestep vs fadecloak on the Arcane. Here is the thing - they are both right, because they play the same character in a different manner. Much like you can play the Silent Sister as DPS or Tank, The Saerabaas as DPS or support, etc. So don't let them confuse you as there is no perfect build, there is only the best build for how you want to play. Find yourself a good group to run with, friend them and play with them so that you can either learn from them, or you can all figure things out together. There is a wealth of info on these boards.

And as far as dealing with the leaderboard/promotion lord people. I'm not one of them, but I have met/played with several on the PS4 Network. Some of them are great and very helpful, some of them are not. Many of them are tired of bad manners from the public groups. Just remain polite if you are lucky enough to run across them.
