You might be overthinking it too much, you could always accomplish the threesome with a confrontation scene like in the original Mass Effect

 

 

But with both parties actually agreeing to the threesome, from there you just create an extra sex scene that has the 3 character bumping uglies and perhaps add in a few lines of dialogue where each character acknowledges it and you are golden, threeway accomplished.

In late 2007, EA did get BioWare. If you do not believe just search it up, Killroy.

What changed? Your feelings? Because they were acquired after ME1 and late in the process of developing DAO, but DAO and DA2 both featured threesomes and ME3 featured gay relationships/sex. Did their older games have secret 'Eyes Wide Shut' style orgies that the rest of us just don't know about?

Like I stated on an earlier post, I never finished Dragon Age: Origins or 2, and was unaware that they had threesomes. However, if I did know, I probably would not have made my original comment.

I will say that if they were to do a threesome in MEA, or if not in MEA, then in the next DA game, I would prefer they went with the polygamous relationship route rather than the one-off encounter.

 

I'm always looking to see them tell new stories, both in the main game, with the party members and with the romances. And this is one we haven't seen yet.

if I recall correctly Liara was open to the polyamorous relationship it was Ashley that was appose to the idea which was fitting to both of their characters. as long as it fits the characters motives and personalities  I say yeah lets have it. however if it comes off as forced or an out of nowhere shift in character. Im all for new and interesting ideas in games. from a sci fi outlook it would be more fitting to the ideals of sci fi to explore concepts that are out side the norm. I would love to see more romance options explored.

Aside from casual one-night-stand flings ala DAO and DA2, this isn't something I would expect Bioware to do. Longer-term polyamorous relationships that include genuine affection, some degree of commitment, and any sense of equality in the relationships would be an awfully complex thing to try to include in a branching narrative, choice-based product - especially if they wanted to provide multiple gender combination options.

Bioware games typically provide romance, as in full relationship building (and associated character arcs), not just casual sex. The first 2 DA games had brothels, ME1 had the Consort, but they seem to have gotten away from that in more recent titles.
