With all five DLC installed, the client will never find a game on PC. Is it the hours I was trying to play? Does Steam/Origin/physical copy matter? What gives? I could find lobbies on the Xbox within seconds.
Finding no games on PC?

Had a game this morning without problems.
Have you checked this:
Also, if you can't get games - meaning that the searching goes on forever - please check that your router has UDP ports 3659, 5659, and 6000 open for inbound and outbound traffic. If you are on PC, you may need to open those ports for UDP in Windows Firewall as well. Even if you can get games without doing that, you will find that you can find games a lot faster once those three ports have been explicitly opened.

There are many people playing on PC at all hours of the day and night, and it doesn't matter what kind of copy you have of the game.
Apart from the (absolutely top notch!
) advice that Frank quoted, you can force the server communication channel to reset in two ways:
- opening the store, loading the images for each pack in turn by clicking on them (you don't need to buy anything) and then searching for a game;
- opening the leaderboards and navigating to the top and back to yourself on a couple of them.
The point being that you want to see "Communicating" appear in the top left of your screen, which is the server connection resetting.
Addendum: Frank quoted from the first post in this thread, which you may find helpful to read in its entirety:

Yesterday there were periods that I couldn't find a game on PC. When hosting my own lobby, it turned into a gold solo, other times some of the pugs (ie new players who had no gel/rockets, and scored less than 20k, GI/Raptor and other odd kit combos) were the worst I have ever encountered in playing this game.
Had to wait 30mns or so to find a game throughout the day/evening
When I did find a lobby or a GiP....it was filled with players using reegars : Ugh

Well I love the GI raptor, but I guess you have to suck pretty bad to score less than 20k on any difficulty ![]()
Do you serach for random/random games ? Is is nearly a must.

When you can't find games another sometimes easy fix is to create your own lobby and exit out of it, then try searching again, seems to do something to help.
ya I do this ^ all the time for Gold lobbies, when I cant find anything, I end up doing solos and try lobbies again later, this weekend just seemed like it was the norm.
When you can do a gold solo with you hosting public lobby and nobody joins....nobody else seems to be pugging ( at that time)

There are lobbies out there, although if OP were to list his timezone we would have a more accurate picture of how many are indeed out there when searching.
I have never found any difference between allowing Origin to open ports via UPnP and setting them manually, but this is going to depend on the router, as many consumer routers have garbage firmware that is clearly coded by a team of chimps typing random characters on a keyboard.
I have had issues connecting to specific people in the past, and this ends up having little to do with my local configuration whether it be ports or DNS settings. It is likely some issue in communication between ISPs, but there isn't a huge incentive to troubleshoot this in detail when switching the hosting friend is simpler.

I always make mine private so I can quit again right away without trapping anyone in my lobby, I don't think my host is very good, but yeah it's like sometimes something isn't connected all the way until I host.

It could just be a wild coincidence, but an extremely common occurance for me is that a flood of joiners happens at the start of Wave 3. It happens far too often to seem a coincidence. While I can't imagine anything in the code that would cause this, on the other hand, biovarplz, so I never rule anything out.
