I managed to get both on the same day, me very happy lol

 

But I really can't make up my mind, which one do you guys think is better?

 

I can say for sure that heart of despair works really nice on the Arcane warrior, 50% PD resistance works really nice on nightmare, especially against qunari.

 

The 50% attack speed is supercool as well... loved it on the elemntalist for higher critical frequency (you attack faster you get more Criticals in the same amount of time).

 

Bonus question: if the passive "Ice armor" works as follows:

 

"You draw on cold magic near you to protect you from all attacks. Standing near a frozen enemy or a persistent cold spell reduces all damage you take"

 

can heart of pride be capable of activating ice armor on other characters? I have no idea, but if it did it would be supercool

Both are nice, I just like walking around with an ice coat that hums so I like despair.

but wouldn't it be supercool if you activated ice armor for other players by being close to them? did anyone test it yet?

I  have no idea, I only promoted 38 warriors so far... but I guess the roof should be 80%, if it does it would probabily be something they're going to fix I guess cause 100% Damage reduction is a game breaker... even if it's only PD

 

But one day I'll get there lol

 

Oh yeah and I was thinking: does the attack speed Bonus of heart of pride stack with other attack speed bonuses?

It could be more of a multiplicative modifier rather than additive.  There's precedent for greater than 80% damage resistance after all (Flask of Frost?).  It would seem very odd to me that such a large bonus would be added to a high end item if it were going to cap out at 80% with CON since most players are probably going to have more than 60 CON by the time they get this.

 

I'd test it out but not only do I have an embarrassingly low number of CON promotes but alas I have not gotten Heart of Despair yet either.  I'm sure there is someone on the forum who has it and has tested though, so hopefully we'll get an answer soon.

 

As to the latter question, yes the attack speed bonus from Heart of Pride does indeed stack with other attack speed bonuses.  I have personally verified this with the saarebas' flow stance Ring & also with low health utilizing the Superb Belt of Urgency, so I would assume it should stack with most others (virtuoso song for instance) as well.

Another question about the Heart of Despair - if using on the necro, does the "Permafrost" perk work with the Ice Armor passive?

No...I never see that thing playing my necro...

it works until you get knocked down after that it doesn't work, not much use against anything far better to use the pride staff and zap stuff faster especially if playing against quanri sine they have zero electrical resistance, but why would you necro when you can ele keeper or aw all of which are far more versatile than just being great against demons (since you cant choose the faction) it dies everytime something looks at it funny

Hakkon staffs still better for necro. Js crit dots. Anyway hakkon over everything.

 Point taken. Using Heart of Pride on Sarrebas with mixed results. I almost think Hakkon works better on her also. Either way, I still don't think I sequence my attacks at times very well.
