Remember the First Ever Trailer for DAI? Could almost be the one for DA4

I was just looking at it again.  If you take Varric out of the scene with the burnt bodies, then that could be the aftermath of Solas ripping open the sky.   Ditto the bit later with the Veil tearing open and the dragon screaming.    Then you have the figure struggling through what looks like a sandstorm but could equally be some sort of fall out with Morrigan saying "Darkness approaches.   Will you stand against it or lead this world to its bitter end?"

The final version didn't really seem to have any of the scenes we saw.    Certainly, apart from the quest in the future in Hushed Whisper, there was never that same darkness and sense of foreboding that was contained in that video.   Even before the final confrontation with Corypheus, Morrigan tried to make it seem more dire that Cory had opened the sky again but with everyone already making or considering their plans for the future after Cory was out of the way, you never really thought that failure was an option.

Do you suppose that the original trailer will form the basis for whichever game holds the final confrontation with Solas?

The purpose of these trailers is to "advertise" the game even if it will not exactly match with the final content... For example the Tresspasser DLC has some different frames/scenes/cuts compared to the trailer and that was just a few days before the content released.

I also agree with the teory that they might have had different story/goals for DA: Inquisition, a few months later they removed the "3" from the title and they've got an extra year to work on the game - we will never know for sure.

The final game is a little bit more "mainstream" I'd love to see a darker game, regarding this I think DA:O was better.

I hope they add ideas  like burning things and animals being over hunted  from da3 ideas into da 4

Yes. I know Dragon Age is a high-fantasy but it is quite dark too. That aspect needs to be developed deeper and shown

You do, it's just that "it's bitter end" is that screen that says "Your journey ends..." and a prompt to reload.
