Just about anything works for the sister as long as you grab the two increase maximum guard passives in her second tree you're good to go. I've seen people go with Flashing Steel and it's upgrade to help her survive even more, and I suppose I'd recommend it to you as well. With that said, you can build her anyway that floats your boat and still be an effective part of the team. Personally I run with Throwing Blades, Combat Roll, Hidden Blades, and Charging Bull, although you could replace Combat Roll with Spinning Blades or Flashing Steel (maybe even deathblow if they are clustered enough) as it what I run with lacks AoE. Passive-wise, it's a bit of a tossup, as other then grab both guard passives I'm unsure what anyone else does. You definitely want to pick up Flow of Battle (hammer icon at the bottom of the first tree) even at low cunning it triggers quite often.
With AW it's a bit more murky. There are two main schools of thought on him, Spirit Blade, and without Spirit Blade. Non-Spirit Blade runs with Chain Lightning, Stonefist, and two etc. (usually a Fade Step, but I've seen without). Spirit Blade runs with Chain Lightning, Spirit Blade, Pull of the Abyss, and one etc. (though I've seen some forego Chain Lightning for just Fade Step and Fade Cloak). I'm sure there are many more builds on AW, but these are the ones that come to mind. The passives are usually all the same. Go down the left tree for Strength of Spirits. From there on out it's based on what abilities you want to use.
The old build guides should be mostly accurate, as DAMP is pretty static. The only exception in your case would be with the AW, as he recently had a big change to Spirit Blade damage and how it works.

I've toyed with a number of builds for these... With Pala, I generally gravitate towards Charging Bull, Throwing Blades, Spinning Blades and War Horn. Charge into a group, blow the horn, instantly gain a ton of guard and with Cutting Words everyone's getting a 20% damage bonus. Both guard passives are indeed a must and I usually get Flow of Battle and/or the speed passive. The armor passives can be handy too.
For the AW, it depends on what you want to do - Pure survivability? CC? I used to run with Chain Lightning, Stone Fist, Pull of the Abyss and Fade Step pretty religiously (toss in Dispel if playing certain NM/HB factions), but with the changes I'm now finding the fun with Spirit Blade, Fade Step, Fade Cloak and Chain Lightning. And with the Staff of Razikale also processing Fade Cloak regularly, you're popping enemies into the air like popcorn. Just be sure to get both Barrier passives and it's an extremely mobile, tanky (and decently damaging ranged and melee) build.

I hate telling people how to build anything
play the game/read the abilities
trial and error
you can build the SS any way you want but yeah got to have the 2 guard passives or forget it
AW you better have spirit blade or your gonna die in anything over Peri the blade is half your barrier Gen
add belt of storm pact and chain lightning ring/hok and a lightning staff any flavor

I really enjoy this build but there seem to be many fun ways to build Pala! Higher crit through stats and gear obviously makes a huge difference and things are rarely on cooldown, plus I offhand savage thorn for the extra guard generation.

SS - I personally run Hidden Blades, Throwing Blades, Spinning Blades, and Combat Roll. if you have the Savage Thorn dagger, then you might like this build. If not, you might sub Spinning Blades or Combat Roll for Charging Bull to help generate guard. One thing to consider is the 3 blade skills work with Flow of Battle and help recharge each others' cooldowns. I always take Combat Roll, as it's invaluable to me in NM/HB. On any difficulty, you can Combat Roll through, say, an arrow about to pierce your face, and take no damage.
AW - Primary skills are Chain Lightning and Stonefist and both upgrades. You could make a case for Frost Step, Fade Cloak, or Spirit Blade. All are useful and I would say whatever suits your play style. For the "4th" ability, Pull of the Abyss is useful, but you could use Flashfire if you needed another damage type. Dispel for NM/HB. PotA is great when you use it first, then chain lightning, then Stonefust, as you will put the entire group to sleep if they are susceptible to it.
Bottom line is just experiment and discover what works best for you.

What is this "Silent Sister" of which you speak?
Also, while my Arcane Warrior build is about 7 months old, I can say that really not much about it has changed. Now, if you are looking for the current meta-build for him... Well, I never made any such build in the first place and don't really plan on starting any time soon. Sinistrality seemed to cover it fairly well.

I go with Charging Bull, Flashing Steel, Hidden Blades and Throwing Blades on Pala. I'm lucky enough to have Hakkon's Mercy, Bloody Bargain and the Physical Immunity Amulet, so I'm running with all of those. And I really do mean running, generally twice as fast as the rest of the team.
I take FS as much for hitting targets (therefore triggering Flow of Battle to reduce cooldowns) as the guard generations. Likewise the other skills are aimed at getting lots of hits in so that I have almost no cooldowns. I'm probably a bit lower in guard generation than most, but I take down targets quickly which does wonders to compensate.
For AW I run with Chain Lightning, Stonefist, Fade Cloak and Dispel. Gear is Hakkon's Wisdom, Chain Lightning Ring, Storm Pact Belt and that Physical Immunity Amulet. I often see 5k chain lightning strikes followed by 2k arcs, and my auto attack is up over 1k a lot of the time, which means barrier isn't a problem. Which is good seeing how much health the belt robs. The dispel is only there in case I am playing NM or HB and I keep this character as a backup that is valuable to any team. I could probably get away with dropping FC now I have the amulet.
However, I'm guessing these builds won't be of great use to you seeing they contain end game gear and need around 100 cunning promotions to make best use of Flow of Battle and the Hakkon crit bonus. Like other posters, I suggest working backwards from these ideas to get a build that works for you and your playstyle.

My thread ain't old, I still update it as best I can.
The AW build you have should work very well in most situations.
Don't confuse dps with damage either.
The damage determines your ability dmg, the dps is only an indicator of your basic attack strength.

If you want to know the basic foundation for the sister, it's as follows, RIght Tree - take the first guard passive and then the other just to the right of 'To The Death.'
A second must-have is the the green one on the left that negates 20% of frontal melee. After that the world is your oyster.
My personal build utilses those passives and Charging Bull - Unupgraded
Flashing steel - Upgraded (triangle)
Throwing knives - Unupgraded
Death Blow - Unupgraded
You need the hammer for cooldowns and apart from the guard and cooldowns, you can try anything out....
I charge through groups in Perilous, Spin/Blades/both, Deathblow. I use the Bloody Bargain with the Hakkon, so when the first 5 kills in the streak are in the bank, the next 20 or so for Perilous walk in to your shanks.
The final ones I take are the ones on the far right of the left skill tree. They are decent, but just icing for later, the staple gory rampage of the sister takes place long before you have enough points to touch those points on the tree....
Have fun, you'll find the one that works best for you... I use Drakescale with 11 Cunning and 16% Sunder when hit, All purple : Heal Ring, Armor Pen Ring, Amulet of Renewal (stamina regen) and Belt of Health in the video you can see that I allow myself to die and from death's door, you can recover nicely
FTR I have 67 Con/59" Willy, 78 Cunning

I managed to get to a nice build on my AW using Chain Lightning, Fade Step, Fade Cloak and Spirit Blade. So far it's working great but only in Threatening. I only have a 90dmg staff so my output isn't so great on higher difficulty. I do have the Lightning ring so that helps.
As for SS I only dabled here and there since I've been working on the AW but I'll try out your guys builds. Mind you I just started so I have like 8 ish promos so far and crap weps lol the RNG is not kind to me.
This build is perfect, I soloed NM as a L17 using Hakkon, Storm Pact, Heal, Lightning Ring, Cooldown Amulet. Now you have the skills, just wait out the staffs and you will be fine ![]()

That is an old build from early days of DAMP("I soloed Perilous 100 times..."thread).I didn't like it before and I still don't like it.Bashing Spirit blade like a monkey never was my thing.

Spirit Blade is for CQC and coupled with fade emergence it is not bad, the majority of this build rests on hakkon/electric belt/lightning/lightning ring. I occasionally pop Fade as I spam my staff to maximise barrier...
