The most obvious answer for causing chaos on the forums is for Bioware to make an announcement that all major direction, plotlines, quests, companions, game mechanics and DLC would now be decided solely by the Devs mining the forums for the most popular threads/requests about each topic.

An entire army of mods will not be suffice to face the blight that would sweep these forums.

hm... what about all armours looking like either bikini mail or modern clothing? (no pseudo-medieval fullplate!)

Bring back everyone that died/you killed in previous games and justify it with "Magical lyrium stuff, dawg. Yoloswag 420blazeit."

Or they could always bring back the female armor from Origins, that would also cause anger on the forums.

-------

BW gives the dwarves muskets, steam tanks, and flying machines.

BW redesigns elves again to give them all butterfly or dragonfly wings.

Have the Warden get curbstomped by... anyone. Ever. The Maker himself can not be allowed to harm this special snowflake or the BSN will lose its collective mind. >_____>

DA4 is completely linear, with no exploration or player decision making.

Here are some more rage inducing suggestions :

  • Bioware announces that they are not going to release the next Dragon Age game because they are focusing on other projects.
  • The next game is a PC exclusive game.
  • The protagonist will venture out alone instead of being beside companions (therefore, no banter).
  • The Tevinter/Qunari conflict is resolved before the start of DA4. You won't know how it was resolved as NPCs only give vague comments.
  • The Maker is revealed and has the underwhelming opening line of "I am the Maker".
  • The next game changes to a First Person Shooter format.

Well speak for yourself, but I personally would find this euophoria-inducing. Just think of the possibilities! :P

Developers talk about improving tactics and combat on the forums.

Next game's combat becomes turn-based, like early Final Fantasy games.

-OR-

Next game's combat becomes similar to Jade Empire's, with all the crazy jump dodging included.

Already done: it's called "rolling a rogue"

this thread is pure.

Have the Grey wardens of DAO:A Return and each of them die violently. And you get to kill Anders twice over for the lolzy. And Several possible Endings that have HoF or the OW dying in hilarous ways.

Most of people mistake "worst idea ever" for "best ideas ever"
Some posts here make me wish they worked for Bioware
Want to know how to cause rage? Do what Bioware does, no matter how great is your imagination, you can't top their awfulness skill

No elves. BW just removes them completely with lore entry that says "lol solas".

Everyone is forced to be a dwarf.

No mage option.

Anders blows up yet another chantry, this time just for the lolz.

Swap Cassandra and Cullen's sexuality to same sex only?

You mean post-Inquisition? Like they both realize they are gay? Oh, the drama! That would certainly make two groups form on the BSN. Those upset that their Inquisitors were dumped and those happy because they asked for a S/S romance with Cassandra and/or Cullen.

------

Be given a pet nug at the start of the next game. Raise it, upgrade it, have be able to fight in combat. Create cute cutscenes with the nug. Then have the villain kill the nug towards the end.

Solas wins, all races die except for ancient elves. World changed forever. Elves slay all Titans and dwarves. The Ancient Elves that woke all talk like orcs/orks from Warhammer.

Elf Gods (just replace reference of orks to elves)

Spoiler

other elves (replace orks with elves)

Spoiler

So, let us bring on the Rage Age, where there is no hope for civility or respect, just flame wars and banhammers.

But before we can do this, we must figure out how such a thing can be done!

What can BioWare do to make the Dragon Age forums explode with X vs Y threads or rage quit threads?

Would making Cullen cheat on and then divorce a married Inquisitor bring the most calamity to the forum?

Perhaps introducing a Tevinter companion who keeps slaves around would cause the most controversy?

Maybe BW could make the next protagonist talk like Sera?

Maybe BW could make a romance mandatory?

What crazy ideas can you come up with that would cause chaos to enter the Dragon Age forums?

(no need to take things too far, this is meant to just be a fun thread.)

This is great. The bolded in particular made me laugh... and simultaneously hope they don't happen  :P

Another great one would be mandatory multiplayer to unlock story options in single player.

You play as a nobody in DA4 who comes across the petrified (dead) Inquisitor and their advisors in the first act of the game. You spend the game tracking down the villain, who turns you to stone at first meeting.

Hire Peter Molyneux and give him full control over the PR campaigns

Come one: first that game has already been made, and second, it's an underrated gem.
