Just bought all the DLCs and planning to play through Inquisition again from zero. I don't want specific spoilers but I need info on the following before commiting to a character I want to RP.

Is the ending satisfactory from someone who wants to RP a power hungry evil mage who cares about nothing else than personal power? I'm asking because I really disliked the fact that you could not ask - or even attempt to ask Corypheus to betray your companions and join him.

Overall as someone who likes to RP evil characters, Inquisition has been a massive disappointment. Bioware's stance on roleplaying and "be who you want to be" is basically "Be whoever you want as long as you are good".

So I have to ask - if anyone who completed Trespasser (which is the final DLC?) - attempted an evil/selfish/immoral playthrough. And if such characters gets a satisfying ending like entering the black city or such, or if RPing such characters again gets shafted.

Love the game and all, and want to conclude the story. I just don't want to invest in a character that has no chance of fulfilling his/her "destiny" due to Bioware's highly enforced moralistic restrictions.

The only difference is based on your relationships with one specific character no matter how "evil" you are. And the difference is just an additional dialogue option
Not worth it

I don't think that this scenario is entirely achievable, but I just watched a video that showed ramifications of the Inquisitor alienating most of the companions to the point that they literally left his side. Blackwall, Dorian, Sera, Cole all have options to leave by their own choice, if they disapprove of your actions. I did NOT see any videos where Iron Bull or Vivienne went away, but Vivienne, Cassandra and Varric all expressed deep displeasure or contempt in the decisions made by the main character in those snippets. I doubt that Solas would leave either, given his agenda, so it appears that to some degree it is possible to be less than "ideal" but other than the impressions that your party members have of you, utterly evil remains a head canon only option in Inquisition.

Some of the decisions made in the main game have a much more brutal impact at the end of Trespasser.  If you want to feel like a complete monster, sacrifice the Chargers in the main game and make Cullen keep taking lyrium.  Events in Trespasser and the slideshow at end will make you feel like a monster if nothing else :P

I was very disappointed with Trespasser if you're character was a jerk up to that point. There is little to no companion dialogue when you talk to them at the winter palace. If they aren't your friend, then they have nothing to say. I was hoping for snide comments and reluctant conversations, yet nothing. I think they could have done that better.

Sacrificing the Charges for what seemed to be the greater good of Thedas didn't make me feel like a monster at all. Did I miss a slide? I don't recall anything about the Charges.

I felt like a monster doing it, but even if someone's not attached to Krem and the rest (oh, let's face it, Krem) then there is what happens with Iron Bull toward the end of Trespasser.  Most people are at least attached to companions.

I wouldn't be disappointed IN Trespasser for that. The main story forced a "good guy" morality on you with very few renegade or corrupt choices to be made.

Hopefully, DA4 will improve on that.

Oh, Trespasser does offer one "Kill knife" scene. I think it was a tipped hat towards DAO

Completely agree with you Erstus. It's not Trespasser but they whole of DA:I. I loved the game in general, but the plot did kind of necessitate that you not be an 'evil' character. Which makes sense, you are the leader of political organisation that is based fairly heavily on faith (regardless of what your character thinks about that). Having you as a figure of reverence wouldn't really mesh with random murders etc.

In DAO you're a warden trying to stop a blight, anything that you need to do to that is fair game. Hawke in DA2, even after he becomes Champion, isn't political in that same way. We'll just have to wait and see what the set up for the next game is and if we'll get the option to be ruthless again

If this is your RP, then no, I don't think there is a satisfactory ending for that.
