I know that it's been a while since anyone has posted here. I think it's so strange that children are difficult to portray in video games. But not only that, even in the trilogy I don't think I even saw a pregnant woman/alien. I think it would be interesting to see turian and krogan in the adolescent stage of their lives. I remember in the ME3 extended cut they show Wrex holding a krogan baby (saved Wrex, cured genophage, Destroy ending). But now that I think about it I think I remember seeing an asari around the height of a 10 year old human (or was that in the concept art?). I'm not saying having children have an important role in the game, but at least show some kids playing in the background or something. Without children all species will die out and the ark mission would be a failure.

There was Rebekah Petrovsky. She and her brother-in-law Michael even have a side quest in Mass Effect 1 about what to do with her unborn child, with him wanting it to get gene therapy and she wanting to not do that.

I had Grunt so felt like i carried a huge baby with a shotgun on my back. We shot things in the collector base and laughed. Good times! :D

no kids please, they add nothing to a game, adding kids feels like the devs try to drain the last drop of compassion out of me and it's not working. That's reserved for animals. If they want me to care make a planet inhabited by kittens and now we're talking. Must protect at all costs.

What about kids from a cat-like race, like these adorable ones?

You heartless monster! How can you not feel anything for the Wily twins, Wilykat and Wilykit, after all they've suffered?    :P

It was really good. Sadly they cancelled it after only one season since it didn't sell enough toys(despite being for older kids, teenagers, and adults).

One of those things I just disagree with but wont complain about if it happens. Kids are ok but in all honesty, as a parent, sometimes I just want a world where children for all intents and purposes might as well not exist.

Especially if its coming down to starting little blue families in my action rpgs in #space

Don't be jealous of the little blue girl, Grunt. You'll always be my one and only son.

What about the teenagers at Grissom Academy, and the Children Jacob was babysitting on the Citadel? Also, would Samara's daughters count?

that is true, I completely forgot about them. So clearly it is possible to include kids in ME:A.

Whenever I think of children in games, I flash back on "Rule of Rose" and get creeped-out all over again.

There's no point to having children in the game, especially since that's why we got nonsense like fully-clothed shower and bedroom scenes in ME3. I'd rather those scenes be more realistic (ala Dragon Age), than have a bunch of useless kids wandering around. Players can use their imaginations if they really feel the world suffers from a lack of kids getting in the way of our exploration.

Even from a lore standpoint I'm certain it makes sense to omit them. If Ryder is indeed a pathfinder blazing a trail into new and unexplored worlds, why in the actual **** would she be bringing a bunch of kids along? Even when she visits towns, she's going to the bar, not the day care. Kids may settle with their parents once she's conquered the worlds or whatever, but that happens well after the game is over and there's absolutely no reason to spend precious development time on including them.

Would be fun if there's a kid of whatever race on the ship and you start to feel protective about it. Then you promise "i'll never leave you" and the kid explodes dramatically (because missiles are a part of war) in true MMM WATCHA SAY? fashion. Mac Walters, give me my job back.
Now seriously, i don't have a very strong opinion about it...the only thing i don't want is another starbrat

Progeny could be a possible motivation for an anti-villain and crew in ME:A. Taken with the picture of the siblings in the N7 Day trailer it could be that the N7 character in the Ghost Riders in The Sky E3 ME:A trailer is a Ryder but not the protagonist.
Children, specifically, the abduction or murder of the Ark(s) children by a hostile species could create a schism between siblings and crews of the Ark(s).

When you first meet Liara, she is barely an adult by human standard, and Grunt is hitting puberty in Mass Effect 2.I would say they are children, so it can easily be assumed that children in these species do not look too much different from the adults.
