She was terrible in Inquisition. Failed in her role again and again. Was bloodthirsty. Was misguided.

I've always loved her character. Didn't care for the DLC in Origins, it would have worked fine to have it as just flashbacks. Her role in DA2 was minor so I did not mind that. Her role in Inquisition is fitting.

The thing is, I only played Leliana's song one or two times, never needed to rehash it after that. She is a optional character in Origins.

2 served to set up her role for future events, where her role was actually more fitting for the narrative than in Origins. I thought she was nicely fleshed out, nicely developed and her endings are quite varied depending on choices in both DA:O and Inqusiition.

Lelianna is awesome. I love the conversation I have with her at the Winter Palace. She talks about coming there as a child and being filled with wonder and awe at the beauty of everything. Now that she is an adult and has experienced life, the magic is gone and all she sees are the machinations of politics and the pursuit of power and wealth. I can relate to her on that. Things that seemed magical as a child are no longer. Like her I see the same thing in real life.

Nah, you're not the only one OP. Leliana is just really over done at this point. Between her failure as spymaster [Durr what are background checks?], her unconvincing morality flip-flops and some of downright psychotic war table options it feels like she's come down with a case of dementia to compliment her schizophrenia.

I really hope we're finally done with her, time to let some other characters have some room in the sun.

I found her alright in DAO but grew to love her character over time, same could be said to that nagging ****** Wynne. I hated seeing the poor sod getting tortured in the Mage quest in DAI, shes in my top 7 companions.

I think Inquisition dropped the ball on her, especially with her personal quest. She's so much of a Jekyll/Hyde character that I find it really hard to believe in any lasting positive development on her part, and the charismatic mystic/reformer angle of Divine Leliana strikes me as really weird because Leliana has never shown any tendency to be a leader instead of a follower. Sure, she's probably supposed to be really good at manipulation, threats and other aspects of the "Game" (though Inquisition rarely allows her to show any competence instead of messing up left and right), but I have a hard time seeing her as a genuinely inspired and inspiring spiritual authority, especially since her faith seems to be based entirely on "whatever makes me feel good must be right".

I don't hate her, by any means, but I just don't know what to make of her anymore.

I can name real world Popes who thought and acted like that.

But I liked her in both Origins and DAI. My only two complaints was her weird obsession over Justinia and that she was not an available party member.

I've never not liked her. She's always in my Origins party(unless I'm a Rogue there).

I think she is both a boring and annoying character. I never used her once in Origins nor was I too keen to see her back in Inquisition. I really hope she doesn't come back again.

I never liked her. She did become a bit more tolerable in Inquisition but not by much. I wouldn't mind if she got replaced with a more interesting character but I think that's not going to be possible in my game since she's the new divine.

She doesn't appeal to me in any way, as Varric never appealed to me in any way. I only start to resent her when she keeps showing up unwanted with her drama that I don't care about. She's not special to me. She's like a bad penny.

I don't like her either.  I didn't like her in DAO or DAI.   I guess she was a little bit better in DAI but still I just didn't really like her very much.  No matter what I did she always ended up hardened, also.  Plus, her accent bothers me. It just doesn't sound convincing to me.

She's the Liara of DA, but I'm with you OP, she can go away now. I like her less with each game.

I like Leliana but I didn't like that hardening her turns her into an edgemaster who kidnaps kids and brags about how ruthless she is. I think it's a missed opportunity that it wasn't made ambiguous which was the right path like her personal quest in DAO.

I liked her in origins, I'm indifferent to her in Inquisition. I liked how much more of a badass she became, but I feel like she lost something in the transition.

I know that's part of character growth, and I rather she do that than stagnate, but I can't help but feel she lost a lot of what made her a bard in inquisition. She doesn't take pleasure in telling me tales and is super absorbed in getting revenge.

She's more of an assassin badass now, but sometimes I miss the clergy storyteller.

I liked her very much in Origins, but I can't stand how she's written in Inquisition. Her vamping and morality whiplash is bad enough, but she's also terrible at her job and hardly does anything in the game after all Bioware's hype and bending over backwards to bring her back (from the dead in some cases).

And I continue to find the idea of her as Divine ridiculous. She has a completely different interpretation of what being Andrastian is, and has a background steeped in violence, treachery, near heresy and even outright murder (during the game no less!) She can then also enforce her changes by continuing to act in a secret police style role, whilst sitting as Divine. She's like a psychotic version of Jeremy Corbyn, trying to enact root and branch reform from the top of the organization, unsupported by the hierarchy around her.

And I bet she would definately use Trident!

Seriously though, I really hated her in this game. I didn't like the idea of my Inquisition blackmailing, torturing and assassinating people, so I never agreed to anything like that. My Warden romanced her, steered her away from all this kind of thing, so I don;t think she should get her hopes up of rekindling that relationship if she keeps this up... And it seemed she would offer such 'solutions' at the drop of a hat. I wouldn't be surpised if she was unmasked in a Professor Layton rubber mask style scene, to reveal Arl Rendon Howe up to his old shenanigans!

Honestly,

I like her, because she is a fairly well developed character.  She is the only female romance option for a female Warden, so I had to decide whether or not I liked her enough to date her.

In the end, I was going to make the final sacrifice, and low and behold Morrigan comes along and says what would Leliana think if you went and offed yourself how about you convince Alister to do this dark ritual.

I **** you not.  I take my RPG somewhat seriously about character choices.  I had no idea, I liked her that much.  I couldn't do it.  So my warrior didn't go down in a blaze of glory b/c Morrigan manipulated me (well BioWare's writer's did).

So my Warden stayed with Leliana, and didn't even defile the sacred ashes.

So yes, against my better judgement, I ended up carrying about her, even doing the lesbian thing and immediately getting a pet together Schmooples.  I like her innocence in DA:O but found her annoying.  I like her better in DA:I, but wonder how my warden and I get along after all these years, though pro the epilogue I hear we are doing fine.

She is aware of her short comings and self-aware.  We even have a 3 way.  I don't know if the fixed the bug in the romances in origins, I was sleeping with Alister and Zevron at the sometime, though she was the only one I stayed with.

I thought her character was well thought out, and even Wynne's concern seemed legit (it's been years...I'm grasping now).

The Leland/ Fem Warden romance added to my RPG experience and I treasured it.

I Hope they are still together in cyber DA space!

I liked the darker direction she took in Inquisition. In Origins she was a bit cutesy and the whole "reformed scoundrel turned good" things felt a bit forced. Having her embrace what she was and put it to use, even thought she struggles with the morality of it, felt much more believable. Its just a shame that she suffered narrative induced competence degradation at the end of Trespasser.

Leliana-> Sister Nightingale-> Divine Victoria. It has been a lovely trip so far. I don't mind it continuing. And no, neither psychosis nor schizophrenia is applicable on her state of mind.

i don't really dislike her, but she's just so worthless. in dao i almost never used her cause she was useless in combat and generally annoying to talk to - Maker protect me. in dai she was completely worthless as a spymaster, much like liara in ME3. still, i'd rather have her as divine than cass. and no, the fact that she may or may not be divine means she won't have a big role in da4, maybe a reference in a codex or letter.

overall i think "meh" is a perfect description of my feelings for her.

Maybe she is a writer's pet?

Liara's a writer's pet. Leliana's just lucky enough to have been a romance option in the same game as Morrigan and Alistair. Association and all that. ...Zevran is too, though less people like (and less people hate) him than Leli.

Actually, it's kinda sad.
