Oh she will be in DA4 for sure. Who else will provide you with courier nugs to send messages to the Dwarves in the Deep Roads??
I love having an unhardened Leliana for Divine. You need to be political, ruthless, cunning and to have truly lived to be successful in such a position - in my head anyway. Which is why Cassandra was better doing something else and Vivienne was never an option to begin with. It's not all about going round saying prayers and giving blessings, surely.
It would be good to see some different characters in DA4 though. I think she's done enough and I got a sense of closure from Trespasser. Not just for Leliana, but for quite a few others. So you might just be in luck ![]()
In terms of all three advisors - at least when it came to some major decisions with the Inquisitor - I found some things so annoying. They could come across as completely inept, flapping around, and only the Inquisitor could come up with the one idea that would save the day. Really?? I found it totally unrealistic and quite patronising/unfair to the characters. It wasn't written at all well and felt totally disjointed. And just remembered, Leliana offered me the only opportunity to argue with an advisor - which was admittedly part of her personal questline. Otherwise yes, rather meh. A good word to use.

Soft? Shouldn't you say hard?
BTW do you play Total War games?

I would take him over most people.
Hail Nugscordia!

I despised her in Origins. I was told that she was supposed to be this expert bard, skilled in subterfuge and manipulation... but that didn't mesh very well with what I saw, which was all sweetness and light and insipid platitudes. And, like Tallis who came later, she succeeded at everything not because she had any exceptional skills, but because everybody liked her so much. Well, I did not. I can't love a character who isn't allowed to be wrong once in a while.
The DLC helped. I actually liked her in that. She was allowed to be fallible, and that helped tremendously.
And then, in DA2, she was back to being a writers' pet again. I picked a purple dialogue option because the paraphrase was "Why are you here?" I wanted Hawke to say something along the lines of "Haven't you got anything better to do?" but what he said was a blatant flirt. Seriously, that was the last time I recruited Sebastian, because I never wanted to see that line ever again.
And now, in Inquisition, she's a lot more like she was in Leliana's Song. She's fallible. She's bitter and resentful, and a lot more likable. I can get past her dreamy "sweetness and light" raptures because "complex and occasionally inconsistent" works for me much better than "cloying and insipid."
I join the ranks of those who hope we never see her again. I'm in a good place with her. I don't hate her anymore. I prefer to say goodbye on a positive note, so this would be a good time to do it.
I really like Leliana, she's truly one of my favourite Dragon Age characters.
In Origins, she represented innocence and optimism. She was a blast. In Inquisition, she was a hardened badass. Princess Stabbity, stab stab.
Her story arch is so perfectly completed by her becoming divine. She had a colorful life and has truly experienced Orlesian culture, Faith and the inner mechanisms of the chantry. She grew from a young bard, to a chantry sister, to a hero of Ferelden, left hand of the Divine, spymaster of the Inquisiton... She's been through so many heartbreaks and betrayals and yet she has found hope, love and faith in humanity every time.
Yes, becoming Divine truly is a perfect, romantic ending to her story.
HehSoft? Shouldn't you say hard?

Heh I´m glad I was not only one who feels this way. Maybe next time I will defile the ashes and let Leliana hate my warden ![]()
Yes I agree we have to much Leliana. That's for sure.
