It's the gun that taught me to like the volus merc. HVB + mag + incendiary 4 as others have said. Distract with troll drone, cloak, ramp up, paint heads all day.

I love the Particle Rifle, but I only really use it on the Huntress and the Collector Adept.  Extended Mag + Piercing Mod with Warp Ammo. Melt everything primed by DC or other Biotic powers.

You can equip Reegar or some other cheese for any nasties like banshees etc that get close since cooldown doesn't matter coz of auto fire hawk missile launcher.

If you feel like freezing or melting enemies put it on GI. I do that when I had enough of enemy BS

Just make sure you ramp it up first then use cloak for the lols.

Anything biotic using that thing with warp ammo and it's game over.  Oh and I'm sure it's been said but the extended clip is almost mandatory.  It's actually quite versatile, most ammos are fun to use with it.  You'll end up liking it once you use it a few times.

It's awesome on destroyer coz it doesnt have to use any powers etc if not specced into nades and hawk missile also staggers mooks etc so it can keep the deathray on the enemies. I have recorded a pug gold game and I will post the link in this thread once the vid upload on YT is completed.

Hey OP, some URs are great at 1. IMO the PPR is not one of them. It really starts to shine around level 6 or 7, before then the damage is somewhat underwhelming before the ramp up period.

 

If you are on console, it really shines with AP IV rounds, absolutely melts armor really fast. If you are on PC (judging by video) it really shines with IA IV.

I think this is true regardless of platform.

 

Reegar is different for IA, but it definitely losses hits in an fps related manner.  But it is trying to calculate about 133 projectiles a second instead of 13.  I don't recall PPR losing hits, and I don't specifically remember a framerate comparo on it.
