Chromatic.
Reaver wants to put out as many numbers as he/she can. Critting is important, but when you're hitting as much as the reaver does, it takes a back seat to on hit effects especially as one as good as the random elemental damage you get out of the chromatic greatsword. It's like hitting twice.
In general I only go Dragon Hunter on Templars, who want the most oomph out of one hit.
Also if you're not going Fade Touched Bloodstone for the 7.5% damage for surrounding enemies, I would critical crafting your 2h weapon.

I find that walking bomb are more affective against group mobs ,because with reaver high raw damages output ,sometime per sec walking bomb goes up to 1k and explode with 10k damages , versatile against group or solo mob ,whereas, Fade Touched Bloodstone are situational only

but i really do need that plus max guard sigil and guard on hit masterwork to keep me alive when i have next to no health. horn of valor helps as well.
now i use devour when i cant use dragon rage any more, i.e. literally no health left whatsoever
but in general you will generate guard fast enough through your ridiculous attack speed and everything dies too quickly to make them a threat. aggro isnt the issue because they die before they change their target. but what ever you do, just dont be the one to draw the group aggro. let your champion/ke do that.
it feels like i cant play reaver any more when i have over 50% health.

I just did some playtesting to see the kind of damage you can get.
100% weapon damage every other second, which can't crit isn't that great. The explosion is pretty mediocre too and seems to be around 100% damage. Though it can crit. This on a 10% chance is meh. I'm not seeing the 10k you're seeing and I tested it on a rogue/mage/warrior. I'm interested, because how it stands now, I thinks it's kind of crap. But if you're getting 10k, that would bump my opinion of it if I could replicate what you did.
If you're really into making explosions your thing, fade touched nevarrite's "explode for 75% weapon damage on kill" causes an enemy to explode for a % of your killing blows damage (I'm not convinced it's 75%) and I think this is much better than the walking bomb masterwork as it's active all the time. Not super great on bosses, but just make another weapon with a different masterwork for bosses. I don't think this is that great on classes that don't have huge numbers on demand, but you could maybe get it to work on the reaver.
Bloodstone may not be the greatest on bosses but it's one of the best masterworks for a close quarters combatant as you're constantly surrounded by enemies for most of the game.

just uploaded my playthrough against highland ravager dragon on nightmare ,there are 2 denotation walking bomb denotation,1st explosion is 9.5k at 0.21second ,the 2nd with mighty tonic wore off but exploded with 14k damages at 1.05second ...

Then 10k is super good. I'm just not seeing it.
I was using auto attacks previously, might be tied to what skill you're using when it applied the masterwork. As in "100% of weapon damage you cause" not 100% damage like an auto attack.
I'll do some more testing. It looks like the best effect masterwork in the game if it works like that I'd take it over every other one.

Either its a bug, or not worded properly but the Walking Bomb Masterwork seems to function as a short duration Mark of Death for the MW wielder. So, its taking 100% of the damage dealt over its duration.
If Necro's Walking Bomb spell worked that way, I'd definitely play Necro more often.
As for the OP -- Yeah Chromatic Sword is way better, and you hardly ever see the hilt in combat.

The 100% weapon damage is autoattack damage. It then explodes for the normal x% weapon damage (don't remember the actual%), which is further buffed by the Reaver passives and the other buffs that are active.
Every masterwork works just like this; even for raw damage, walking bomb is about average.

totally agreed with you ,I sacrifice pretty much crit damage in order to obtain high crit chance , this my character stat
