  Are they worth equipping on SS or other class?  I've gotten a few 237 dps AoE daggers, but have a 321 and a 288 normal daggers and am wondering if they are worth equipping over the higher dmg ones.

Look at damage not dps. Then the answer will be clear

So always choose the higher damage one, even if one is an AoE as opposed to single target?

For sure man, honestly it doesn't really matter just go higher damage in main hand

Well it's a bit more complicated than that.

 

Duel blades have a different attack sequence, which is slower and doesn't close distance to the target as easily as the straight daggers.

 

 

Worth noting is that is simply the dagger in your main hand that determines which attack sequence you are using.

 

If you got a straight dagger in one hand and a duel blade in the other, simply switching the hand will give you a different attack combo.

 

 

Last, they have different grips which use different materials. So they mod somewhat differently.

For now, as it seems to me that you are newer to this game so less promotions and less gear (correct me if I am wrong), just whatever has the higher damage value put it your main hand (alot of the time it will be single blade daggers so no crazy attack sequence)..Trust me, you will forget about dual bladed daggers when you get the better gear as they are sub-par

Thanks guys, in single player I actually prefer the attack sequence of the dual blades since I think it looks cooler, but in MP where things are actually difficult on high difficulties I'm focusing on effectiveness, so I'll stick with single blades unless I find an AoE dagger that is higher damage

I use an AOE dagger on my offhand, because it has the same damage as my 2nd highest dagger, and it has better + stats.  Also the dual blade dagger grip has more slots for + crit chance leather.  I only have 20 in cunnings so I need all the help I could get.
