DAI shouldn't have been made on last gen consoles at all.

Had they announced only for 1, 4 and pc, I would've bought a ps4 at that time

Well, in my opinion, they should stick with one generation of consoles in the future, to avoid this.  If whatever comes after XBOne and PS4 is out when they release DA4, then they need to just have it on those, and not try to port backward.

I know that keeps some people from playing, but then those who do play can have all of the DLCs etc. and the developers are able to fully focus on the systems currently out... which means that the game is a much better experience.

Do you realize that there were quests and events cut from the base game because previous gen consoles could not have handled them?  For instance, they even demonstrated a situation where you had to choose to either save a village or a Keep.  It looked like a very emotional scene if you let the village burn, but apparently it was possible to save both if you were fast enough.  Except... that never appeared in the game.  I later heard that quest had been said to be too much, from a code and technical perspective, for the last-gen systems to handle.

The downside is that not everyone can afford a beefy gaming computer or a shiny new console.  So whatever they decide, not everyone's going to be happy about it.

Sticking to one generation is an entirely valid opinion.  However, once you choose to provide something on a given platform, cutting it lose prematurely is rather poor PR.

Cutting lastgen consoles loose didn't magically bring back that Crestwood choice, after all.

It looks horrible on last-gen. I would hardly call it a game on PS3 and 360. Also, they announced this and it has been talked about all over about The Descent/Trespasser/Future Updates not coming to last-gen, but you do get the option to put your save on a cloud so you can pick up where you left off. Yes, it was a dick move to even make DA:I for last-gen. I will tell you this: The Descent would run at like 5fps on last-gen, because there are parts of that DLC that makes the framerate stutter.

Yeah given the amount of enemies you end up fighting in Descent it probably would. Even I get some slow down in parts of that level and I'm on a next gen PC which I specifically bought to handle this sort of game. In general the game works fine and it's only a slight drop so I'm happy enough to ignore it. But it is there and the rest of the game handles flawlessly so I'm happy.

Not for me except the hair. I know it doesn't look as good as the other platforms, but overall it looks fine for me on my ps3. I'm nearly finished with a another playthrough.

And all they have to do is spend over $400 to do so.  <_<

Unless you live in Australia or some other 3rd-world country, an Xbox One or PS4 shouldn't cost you $400 or more.

300-350 for the console, another sixty for the game, plus roughly forty-five in DLC costs, unless you get the GotY edition? Yeah, that's four hundred easy.

It's totally playable on last-gen (PS3 here, too). But before re-purchasing it Xbox One I also really underestimated how bad it looks. I went back to check out the PS3 version, and I hate to sound like a graphics snob--because I'm really not--but holy **** it's fugly.

Or you can just go to Target and pick up the Xbox One w. Gears of War Ultimate Edition and 1 TB HDD Bundle for $300, go to GameStop and get the base DAI set for $25 used, and purchase and download Trespasser for $15 or $20, however much it costs.

You're looking at $340-$350, tops.

Not everyone lives in country with close to no taxation.

Cheapest Ps4 at the moment 373 euros and DAI 35 euros. Over 400 euros already, change it to dollars and you have 457 dollars and that's without DLCs.

Some consideration that US isn't whole world thanks.
