I decided to buy Trespasser because I wanted answers about the post-credit scene. I DIDN'T WANT A THOUSAND MORE QUESTIONS!!

 

F****** SOLAS! I thought we were bros! We laughed at Vivs expense together, we said f*** off to the Gray Wardens together, we looked down on the dalish together, sure I skipped through your dialogues, but I thought to ask. It's the thought that counts!

 

And now you want to destroy the world, with me in it presumably, that hurts man. 

And we had all these questions to ask him but none of the questions I wanted to ask.

And can I say that I really wish some time was put in to the fact that the Inquisitor lost an arm?  I get that he/she is a badass that still has work to do, but losing an arm is a big freaking deal to be so quickly glossed over.

 

No not even glossed over, but completely ignored.  

 

 

So yeah, you may or may not be drunk OP, but still you make some good points that I also share.

My feelings on Solas post Trespasser are as follows; from a moral standpoint he's the worst companion we've had. Worse than Zevran, Sten, Isabela, Anders, and Loghain. He's a madman consumed in equal parts by a Messiah complex and a Martyr complex. He's no better than Corypheus.

 

But that makes him considerably more interesting than he was previously, so good job on that front.

To clarify about the arm. It faded away/dissolved. Solas removed the anchor to stop the spreading, but your arm was already almost destroyed from the meltdown. He managed to stop it from continuing while you chatted, but he could not prevent the inevitable. You had no arm left. There was no chopping off, no severing anything. It just disintegrated.

Eeeeh I can't decide if that's worst or better... nope don't want to think about it!

I'm not sure jumping of this bridge is the safest thing... but eff that! Im gonna do it anyways. BUT IT'S WORST BECAUSE IT'S MURDERING PEOPLE!

Especially since if we could have only reached Solas sooner we might have been saved. He said that he kept it from spreading in Haven with the same magic he used at the end to buy time for you to chat. My Inquisitor has an awesome crossbow arm thanks to Sera right now though, so I'm alright.

I felt the same way when Solas betrayed my Inquisitor in Trespasser. I was thinking, 'Do you honestly think I could ever trust you again after all that's happened? You're dead to me.'

Solas is shaping up to be the best BioWare antagonist EVER. He isn't some mustache-twirling lunatic. He's a sympathetic character with good intentions. He's deluded and incredibly dangerous, but hey! That's why he's likely to be the antagonist, not, for example, the hero.

 

All I have to say is that the protagonist of DA4 is going to have to be mighty indeed because Solas can turn people to stone without even looking at them.

Sympathetic character with good intentions?? Did we play the same game? Because all I saw was a supremacist a** who honored us with actually thinking of us as people but is still going to murder us regardless.

 

Some of us have delved deep into Solas' psyche as well as the past, the lore and Mythal and well, let's just say he IS redeemable, but currently having other issues based on duty, being bound, and many other possibilities we've discussed to death. If we can't stop him without killing him, we would never have been given the option. Something worse is out there.

He wants to commit genocide... yeah I'm sure a few weeks at therapy will sort that all out

More complicated than that? Maybe, but he outright admitted he didn't see you as people at first. How much more racist, or specist or whatever, can you get? And even after he does it still isnt enough because Solas is all oh my people were sooo much better, sucks you have to die, but bye!
