The "Awakend" are a good example to how little regard Bioware has for its own lore. (The Lore was Broken!)

They make no sense, and exist only for the multiplayer. (consider how long this chain of cloning existed and how deep and integral the Reaper tech is in their husks)

The whole "Avatar" thing is not literal, the protheans didn't have magic,

couldn't possess others, and certainly didn't produce living embodiments of specific ideas.

Javik is the "avatar of vengeance" because that's his original job, and that's the only thing he has left.

1) It has been remade. This happens all the time in fictional settings. Things are revealed to the contrary of what was originally thought of given the limited perspective it is witnessed through. You can't just assume one voice will be a fountain of irrefutable truth unless it comes directly and out of world by The Powers that Be. . .and even then retcons can and do happen. Lore is fluid, and should not be considered as being set in stone. (Nor should it be considered as constantly changing at any moment for any reason.)

2) Of course the 'Avatar' thing is not literal spirity-magic nonsense, where did I say it was? Never. However, Javik states that each aspect of the Prothean Society is embodied by a single individual known as an Avatar. Javik was apparently the Avatar of Vengeance. . .and apparently all the Awakened are as well? Could just be flavor text or could mean that multiple Avatars exist for each aspect of society, but each only embodies a sole aspect. . .something to think about.

3) As mentioned, the Awakened could be examples of the original Collectors given their different bodies in comparison to the Trooper and Captain varieties.

Aren't the Awakened Collector uses the same model as the Collector Captain, minus the horns?

1. Three words: Poor story telling. "Fluid" lore is just a nice way of saying that your story is full of holes and inconsistencies.

And to the topic itself, there was nothing wrong with the original lore - the collectors were simply a veriant of the human "husks".

2. How would you explain rationally this statment? (...each aspect of the Prothean Society is embodied by a single individual known as an Avatar)

It simply makes zero sense to me no matter how I try to look at it.

If you ignore the signature pomposity of Javik, it seems likely that "Avatar of Vengance" is simply a flowery name for the commander of a resistance group.

3. Yes, but why would the Reapers to preserve them? They are husks, the cheapest Reaper pawns out there.

They are nothing more than organic sacks filled with reaper tech, there is nothing left there to awake.
