Something undersea with tentacles would be good, like Kraken-esque, jellyfishy or even crabby... ![]()
Both and any other colour variation you can come up with, The more the merrier.
TR
Noted accordingly! I think the Jubjub is going to end up with 3 variants, the Elven cat with 2, and the next critter, well...

The Oozlum bird was considered, though dropped for the Final Three here

I did consider that one elemental turtle/crab thing, but it didn't get beyond "Maybe if I take a crab and stick some flippers on it" sadly
Will the bandersnatch be the next? And maybe a mome rath with an outgribe animation.
![]()
Beware the Frumious bandersnatch. No mome raths, unfortunately.

I think we can guess what tomorrow is going to be...
Its time. The final Fey creature, and as per my hints, unquestionably linked to the Bandersnatch and Jubjub bird

Fey week is over! Next week (Read: Tomorrow) we start to take a vastly different view, looking up towards the sky for some odd things to show up
On the Jabberwock, what tileset is that?
On the Jabberwock, what tileset is that?
That would be Worm's Mirkwood swamp
So! This week's theme is SPOOKY EXTRATERRESTIALS, mostly based around alleged real events. So let's get some music to get us right into the appropriate mood
No one knows what's the deal with today's alleged alien. Key note on the "Alleged" there, because this is one of the most mysterious creatures of American folklore, an omen and portent of doom? Or something from beyond the stars?

The various Mothman sightings are most likely misidentified owls, of course, given that owl eyes do reflect red
Now that's a pretty scary looking critter.
Mothman was supposed to be a pretty scary looking critter. Could those eyes be made to glow like Mothman's are supposed to? Also Point Pleasant has an actual statue of mothman!

Quite possibly. If you read the original report they only shone when the headlights of the car caught them, but hey, artistic expression is fun
The SPOOKY ALIENS continue with what is possibly -the- most iconic alien in popular culture, even outstripping that of a certain acid blooded fellow.

(Cow corpse is one of PHoD's, given I was the idiot who actually hasn't downloaded his UFO despite the fact that it was basically the inspiration for making this guy)
As I managed to break today's model, here's another one from the Vault for you all

Anyone have a biped that uses tentacles by any chance? Or some good danglymesh tentacles I can borrow? Y'see, I need to make a certain something with a very... Familiar theme, and would prefer keeping it bipedal rather than going to Plan B, which involves arthropods and, technically while accurate for this gravity, isn't as fun.
I wanted a Martian. However, I can confirm why there aren't that many NWN things made from tentacles: They are a god damned pain to work with
So unfortunately the Martians are a bit more crawly than you may be familler with, but I did try for all of their bits. Also a spoiler into how Mecheon makes models.

If anything has anything that is remotely bipedual and uses tentacles well, please let me borrow it. Heck, I might even grab one of the Yuan-Ti models and try to do the tail into a tentaclish thing. But I do kind of like the spidery look as well
Welcome to behind the scenes on Mechaween. Some of these are attempted to be created right at this very moment!
Unfortunately, well, a lot of these need a bit more time, especially now that we're into the Aliens who all have very specific appearances, so I've just muddled together a WIP (Who'll be touched up on the weekend when I have some free time) along with the last two spoilers...

Hello! Don't worry, things happened, etc, etc, research on what to do next week. You know how it goes
Have a goblin. Well, 'goblin'

Tomorrow/todayish we'll finish off the aliens with something near and dear to my heart in a way, as it also originates from one of my favourite games ever

You have other favourite games than Neverwinter Nights?

Doesn't every gamer? (The original Dungeon Siege before the expansion).

Half-Life ? [best ever Scifi game stuff known to CGnome kind].
Cavegnomes obviously never heard of Outcast. ![]()
Sadly the final alien has to wait a bit while I get it fixed up. Haven't picked it yet, though. My hint is you may not have realised they're aliens.
Let's take a look at the final week's theme: Stuff from Video Games. And let's start it with the most terrifying thing in any video game, a creature that sneaks up on you, unexpectedly, before exploding in a massive explosion, generally killing you and destroying your stuff

Well yours'll do for now... I'm still working (rarely and occasionally) on the Bomb Beasts to get them to work as per their descriptions in the catalogue.

I am a big ol' fan of the bomb beasts! Just, well, bomb beasts are innocent little creatures while creepers are malevolent. I can't see bomb beasts doing the old creeper trick of stalking someone from behind before exploding right as they turn around
Let's take a look at another game, one less cuboid and therefore able to have better representation!
Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time was my first big, sort of open world RPG. It had a big ol' massive effect on me, especially when it comes to monster design. So here's a lovely homage to one of my favourite designs, along with a variant

Because you're a fan, I'll assume you've got the bomb beast catalogue. If you look in there you'll see that some of them have thief abilities. Which means that given the right "dice rolls", some types will effectively become invisible. That is something that I have managed to get working. I have also got them making the the right (to my ears at least) ticking sound... It's some of the spell mimicking abilities I am struggling with.
Loving this series atm, btw.

Is there an Ozian evil flying monkey in the mix, perhaps? ![]()

Wish I could help, but scripting is beyond me
Now, slapping models together? That's my style
When I first saw the thread title I thought we were getting mecha. (Presumably with wizards inside trying to get their revenge on those beefy fighter for kicking sand in their faces at the beach)
I'm pretty sure I'm going to say that "Giant Monsters", if it ever wins the CCC, includes "The giant mecha that exist to fight the monsters". If only we had a tiny city tileset to release 'em on...
Is there an Ozian evil flying monkey in the mix, perhaps?
I do wish, and I know a way to get a decent animation spread for one, but I do not trust in my abilities enough to make a decent looking monkey. Though the Gargoyle, I believe, would be the best base for that. Terrible at being a gargoyle, great at being anything else
Anywho, here's another Zelda critter. No, this week is not Zelda Critters, there's just... A lot of weird creatures from there I like. And yes, we'll probably see a Dodongo before the week is up.
