We know that Corepheyus and the Architect are directly related to the old gods as they were the magister's that went to the old city to, in my view, meet them or gain some sort of power from them, how ever this lead to the First Blight and Dumat being corrupted. But this is where things get a bit blurry, supposedly the Old god's were INSIDE the Golden City whispering to the dreamers (this is how the world/Tevinter learned magic) and when they got to the city it was instantly corrupted turning into the Black City, this happened in -395 ancient the EXACT same time when the first Blight began, is this a sort of proof that the maker doesn't exist? The Seven then were twisted into monstrosities with no memory of what happened there.
Now here's there I come back to Eluvia, David Gaider alluded that the Old gods could of been based on the elven gods or the forgotten ones, but seeing as how even though Gaxklang and Xebeneck were killed and without a Grey warden being needed we can assume they aren't it. But that means the Elven gods who we learn are incredibly powerful mages that Solas says could of been spirits or demons possessing or (in my mind) working in harmony with the mages. This is in part possible since Anders has with the spirit Justice/Vengance merged, this also means that the spirits could of been corrupted or they corrupted the elven gods with power or greed ect.
Now for my theory which can be completely discounted as true. I believe the Old Gods WERE those Mage leaders. I believe that the Golden City was the original Arlathan (city of the elves) and Solas not only banished the 'Gods' but the entire city and most of his people with it and the Gods were trying to possess the bodies of the Seven or use them to break down the walls of The Veil and let them go back into the world.
Now for the more blown out of the water one, we know that the elven gods could be killed (Mythal) but why would Solas because of this lead to an uprising unless he himself is the hidden 8th God and lover of Mythal (this is alluded to by one the Inquisitors line and that Mythal knew of Solas safe/secret word that identified people as friends). There is a 8th constallation called Draconis which historians agreed was stricken from history for some reason and was around the time of Tevinter. Was Solas the most powerful of the mages, he was the one that CREATED the veil and BANSIHED the rest of them.
On a side note, I also believe that after The Seven were thrown out of the Black city, they were under the thrall or the 'call' of the old gods, The Architect seeked out Urethmeil and in trying to save/help it accidently triggered the blight and then became free. What if all the blights begin like this? With the corrupted magisters seeking them out.
In the aftermath of the First Blight, the Grey Wardens discovered several darkspawn capable of thought and speech and prodigiously powerful magic and also able to command and lead portions of the darkspawn horde even in the absence of an Archdemon. The Grey Wardens eventually trapped the one known as Coryphaeus like this. This gives evidence that they were there during/start of the First Blight and that they are some sort of instigator for them.
In the end I believe that in the next game some sort of connection to another one of The Seven/ the 6th blight will occur, Solas will try to bring about his new world and Tevinter will make some changes/moves especially with Dorian trying to change them, the Grey Warden civil war (or something equivalent) will be in full swing, hell even a new Exalted March against Solas might happen. Also lets not forget GRIFFONS....they're back!! (It's my secret hope that My Warden, Hawke and Inquisitor and maybe the 4th games hero will have some sort of gathering to discuss plans or do something significant.)
So what do you guys think? Any one agree/disagree or anything to add or maybe even contradict me?
