I use a program that a friend of mine, who owns Killer Notebooks, licenses for core optimization. It allows you to designate which cores you want to use for the programs and processes you are running, by atttaching rules to each of them. After updating Vista 64bit, and all hardware with current drivers, I had no luck fixing my garbled and popping sound issue. I was able to fix it by throwing all the processing power I could at the game though. I allowed cores 3 & 4 to run all basic windows and peripheral applications/processes as i usually do. I then created a rule for ME2 to run on cores 1 & 2 with nothing else running on those cores. So two of my four 2.66GHZ cores are managing the game. It runs fine now with no sound issues any longer. I realize this isnt a fix for many of you, since you dont have the program I use to designate your cores on multicore processors. However, for some of you with some programming knowledge this may help. Bioware, even though it took 2 days for me to get this damn game running properly. Its an unbelievable, piece of artwork, and you are to be commended for your efforts. Now patch the damn thing so some of the less fortunate PC enthusiasts out there can play this epic masterpiece.
Ok I fixed my sound problems and the game is unbelievable.
