Step 1 Wait until nearly beat the Trespasser DLC

Late in the game you will earn the option to power up your anchor ability allowing you to destroy small objects in your path. Once you have this ability you will be pushed into the final portion of the game, DO NOT TAKE THIS ROUTE.

 

Step 2 Head to the Ancient Ruins

Once you are transported to this mystical world you need to traverse the entire map until you reach the Shrine of Fen’Harel. Go outside onto the grassy noel heading east. Once there you will find an odd Sextan along with a series of picnic blankets.

 

Step 3 Find the Hidden Entrance

Now that you are sitting on this beautiful patch of sunlight head south and you’ll find a series of rocks with gattlock barrels. Ignite them with your special ability. Which will break the way forward into the secret hidden vault and inside GOLD GOLD GOLD!

Well you COULD purchase that super weapon

And use it for the remaining 30 minutes of the game. It would be one thing if all these really nice weapons and armor would save in the Nug, but they don't. All of these cool items are all obtained at the wrong time and for little or no purpose other than to be cool for the few minutes remaining. All of this stuff should have been obtained at the very beginning in order to get some real use out of them, especially since once you finish Trespasser, the game is really REALLY over.

Having worked in this industry for as long as I have, it's ever more disappointing that this practice still exists in RPG design.

I assume the reason things always seem to be misplaced is because large parts of the game weren't finished and were scraped before release. It wouldn't even surprise me if many of the DLC areas were meant to be in the game or were already worked on ran into the same problem. All they did was either not close them off or made them accessible because they could (probably this, turned them into easter eggs). Still sucks though.

I prefer to use the trial that matches enemies to your level and do The Descent right after getting skyhold. Repeatedly complete that one war table missions in the deep roads that gives loot and weapons to sell for 1500 a pop, in 10 minutes of fast forwarding time you'll have a couple hundred thousand.

 

This is cool though and in fact I used your video a while back (or someone's anyway) to find all the secret locations in Trespasser. Thanks for the work!

The Lyrium-Infused Staff you get in Descent is nice, but I prefer offense slots to utility slots for staves. I've already got massive stat boosts on the armor, so I'd rather get +crit chance and +crit damage from Encore. You can get that schematic from the halla statue scavenger hunt in Trespasser, and use it throughout the game courtesy of the Golden Nug.

You really, really should read the whole thing. Make a playlist of all the chapters, in fact. I'd love to listen to that as an audio-book on my commute!

Never had the patience to read them on a 55" screen myself but I'd love some audio of it.

To make a lot of money fast, and when you actually need it, just sell a few hundred Earnest Reprisals as soon as you get to Skyhold. They sell for around 2.5k each. If you clear your inventory first, you'll be selling 90 per run with the capacity perks, which will net around 230k.

 

You can easily get several million quickly, which should see you through the rest of the game, having enough to bulk buy all the high end materials as soon as they become available. It means you never have to worry about money.
