Using Veil Quartz to make staves results in no sound being generated when launching basic staff attacks. So yeah...no tier four electric staff for me. Blarghity blargh.

Yeah....it is rather disconcerting. But, at least the staff "works".

I decided to use everite. The damage isn't greatly reduced, but still, tis annoying. How does a material affect sound effects beyond the element it imbues? Just doesn't make sense to me.

It may (and I stress the "may"), have something to do with the patch tweaks they made, roughly three patches ago. Veil Quartz wasn't registering any armor stats, when used in armor. Perhaps changes made to fix that, messed with the use of it in weapons...??

I do still use it (simply because it is an easily farmed Tier 4 mat). Suppose I have just started to get used to the silence.

I love it for armor though, so glad they fixed that.

Didn't know veil quartz was normally pretty scarce, so I didn't farm it. With the abundance of dragon bone in comparison though, I'd only use veil quartz for staff creation anyways.
