Really, if you're as insistent about this as a fundamentalist you shouldn't be surprised if people react as if you were one.

Completely false. My main Inquisitor got on pretty well with everyone, and she wasn't shy about telling people what she thought of this Herald of Andraste business and that she didn't believe in the Maker.

But - and here may be the difference - she also didn't use every opportunity to proclaim her dislike of the Chantry, and she wasn't rude about it. Really, if you're as insistent about this as a fundamentalist you shouldn't be surprised if people react as if you were one.

Yep. Play as a atheist who also happens to be a decent person and not a total **** and you're fine. You'll get a couple of "Cassandra Disapproves", but that hardly means she hates your guts (it takes a hell of a lot more than that to get the drunk scene for example). Play a fanatical anti-theist (or just an outright **** of any type) and yeah, people will hate you. But what do you expect?

No, you're stuck with either atheism, Andrastian faith, or your race's faith (except Qunari).

you can be agnostic I think my character replied "I don't know" when asked a question about believing if gods exist or something like that

I always use a Elf and he/she is not exactly a atheist nor a strong believer. Neither one recites any of the Chant of Lights or asks for a blessing from a priestess.
