So, the original human inhabitants of Par Vollen built pyramids that appear to line up exactly with the Solium constellation. And there's a codex entry explaining that Solium may actually refer to Elgar'nan.

There are two common interpretations regarding the history behind the constellation Solium, commonly referred to as "the Sun." The first is that it represents the fascination of early peoples (such as the Necromenians, predecessors to the ancient Tevinter Imperium) with all objects in the sky, the Sun and Moon in particular. Indeed, many believe proper depiction of Solium is as both. The second interpretation is that this constellation originally represented Elgar'nan, the head of the elven pantheon who was also known as "Eldest of the Sun." Modern scholars do not know which, if either, is truth.

In addition, there are reliefs on the walls of the pyramids depicting giant horned people "always in a position of authority and respect." And since the primary purpose of the pyramids doesn't seem to be to house the dead, what are they for? Especially considering the humans that built them just rolled over and accepted the Qun, almost as if they were expecting it...

Could Elgar'nan, being the "god" of fatherhood and vengeance, be behind the whole... qunari dragon blood stuff? I honestly have no idea where I'm going with this, but I thought it was interesting.

Well I'm of the opinion that if the appearance and constitution of the qunari is due to inter-breeding with dragons (which seems likely) then this occurred much further back well before they adopted the religion of the Qun.    There was experimentation by Gil'naan (spelling probably wrong) with various creatures that got out of hand so she was asked to destroy them, except the Halla.    It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that she wasn't the only one.    Whilst it is unclear when humans appeared, I think the Dalish legends are right and they did appear before the raising of the Veil but were regarded as little more than animals by the evanuris, so would have been considered fair game for magical experimentation, just as the elves are today.     It seems certain that someone was responsible for their development but I suppose we will have to wait to discover exactly who that was.    

 

There were also a strange reptilian race running around at one time as referenced in the Descent plus references in JoH to Moon Men and Snake People, so there may be other civilisations that we have yet to learn about who had a part in the history of the qunari when they were known as Kossith.
