I wish Cullen and the lady Inquisitor spent more time in her quarters. I mean... why would Cullen sleep naked under a broken roof with a chilly breeze coming in? His lady love could keep him warm and toasty in her big fancy room, that has a fireplace and a king sized bed ;)

I know. It's sad that the only scene there is the last one in the game, and is about 30 seconds long. Oh, hey, that's in my avatar  But yes. It's silly. I get that the scene was to show Cullen finally putting something before his work, so they had to use his desk, but it still irks me. They could have easily done it there (ha) and just fixed the bloody roof! <_< There, problem solved.

But being cold isn't the only concern (I'm sure it'll warm up anyway)... I'm more concerned about the lack of... soundproofing

Which would probably lead my Inquisitor to have the following expression the next morning, when she realizes what happened.

Spoiler
Yeah. Bet that would make walking around and talking to the troops a bit awkward.

Thanks to Cullen, Ellis's voice definitely sells for me. A couple of months ago I was debating starting Diablo 3, so I watched a lets play video of the beginning and of course the first NPC was voiced by him. I took that as a sign to play it.

unfortunately the game couldn't hold my interest for more than 3 hours, but still, hearing Cullen got me through the doorstep

He probably when they bang for first time, Cullen "moves" to Inquisitor's quarter, like Dragon age 2.

As an aside does anyone else think that the Inquisitor's/ Cullen's...copulation...would be really...quiet? At first?  I mean he just seems so young and inexperienced when it comes to this sort of...thing...that I just imagine that...at first he would be really gentle and boring and depdning on the Inquisitor she'd be in the same position all young and inexperienced or like...come on guy...really?  I believe they'd get there eventually but the point is I doubt any Inquisitor's would have to be awkward after the first encounter. :P

Yeah, he was the adrenaline junkie engineer who joined Kirk and Sulu on the orbital skydive... the one who didn't pull his chute until the last possible second, hit the drill too fast and bounced off, before getting vapourised by the giant laser underneath!

(I've seen that movie way too many times)

Inexperience is easy to remedy. The real question would be, "Is he a fast learner?"

Wasn't the whole Cullen only romances an elf/human inky a resources issue, lack of time and such?

Also out of curiosity I took the plunge and began a playthrough to romance him with my circle trev. I'm enjoying it more than I should have, jeebus I thought I'd hate it aha. He'll never make me squee lol but I like seeing that side of Cullen, grew to appreciate him more. The mage/temp romance angle is great, really liked it. Surprised really as I enjoyed his more than Cassandra and I adore Cass, feel strange about this. :P

It was. I can recall that the Cullen (& Solas?) romance was only in the game because BioWare got some extra time for the development. But it wasn't enough time to develop romances for all of the races. That's why they focused on humans & elfs.

Yes and No.

Many people assume the reason Cullen was not an options for males was because of running out of time. This is only part of the reason.

Cullen was not a romance option to start with. It was not until they extended the game's production another year where they changed Cullen to be a romance option.

Brianne (writer for Cullen) stated that they did run out of time, but even if they did not; Cullen romancing males would have been pulled anyways do to the fact it felt out of his character.

This is why the files remain related to such. They simply had no time to remove them.

Still pretty weird they had time to add them and do all the voice-work etc. Doesn't that cost money?

I... don't know. But my gut says it was great. It's always great, okay? :P Also, they seemed really happy in the morning.

...I feel weird talking about this or thinking about it in so much detail

Probably. It's a rule of thumb that the main characters in Bioware games (but especially the protagonist) are basically good at everything, or at least fast at learning. For instance, you could say the same about kissing, yet both of them seem to do fine. I think. I'm not really sure. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I kiss "correctly", but if neither me or my partner have any complaints, then it doesn't matter anyway ^_^ So maybe it's the same for them. Also, an excuse to post some kissing shots.

Spoiler

Ahem. Now that that's out of my system...

Yeah, Cullen has a knack for making people who wouldn't normally be interested in a romance like his... interested :P I also loved the forbidden mage/templar romance angle too, and liked seeing what he said about his opinion of mages changing over time.

It probably costs MORE money to pull a voice actor back into the studio later if someone suddenly decides "Let's make Cullen a S/S romance."

I don't necessarily view it that way.

To me, he's probably early 30s and just because I can't ask him about his previous sexual history doesn't mean he doesn't have one. I imagine he joined the templars and would of gone through puberty there, raging hormones something was bound to happen. But I also don't see him as someone moving from sexual partner to sexual partner. But yeah, first encounters can be quite awkward lol

I like the fact it's not in game because people can view it/headcannon it to how they view Cullen and their character.
So anyone's thoughts or views can be what we want for our games :)

No doubt, but I just thought that by the time they do voice acting they should have probably decided something as basic as "Can a male Inquisitor romance x character?" *shrug*

Yeah, in-universe I'm sure the Inquisitor knows if he's been with anyone before, but it being vague to the player is fine. Personally, I don't think he's been with anyone on account of him being a very dedicated Templar since 13, then being mentally tortured by demons (possibly about someone he loved in the Circle no less) when he was still very young. It doesn't seem like he started to move past that until the Inquisitor shows up, judging by how he talks about it (and refuses to at first).

It's not like he couldn't have, and it wouldn't make me like him any less, it's just what I got out of it. Other people see it differently :) Though I do like romance stories better that way in general. It seems the most romantic to truly be the only person in each other's life. I know that's unlikely in real life, but this isn't real life! :P

You would think. But like movies they do have a tendency to come up with an idea on paper, execute said idea and then realize it just is not working when it plays out in front of them.

A good example of this is: The Transformer movie. The original voice actor from the 80s cartoon was going to voice, Megatron. But after a few voice sessions it just was not sounding right. Thus they scraped this and hired "Agent Smith" to do it. ;)

Sure it does cost money. But if the developers, directors or what have you scrap a plan early, they make-up the loss for not going on and in sales etc.

By the end of Trespasser, Cullen is about 32. His bio states he was born sometime in 9:11 Dragon. Which makes sense...to me at least.

Its a tough call to determine Cullen's pass sexuality On one hand, I feel as though Cullen could be a virgin; considering he seemed so dedicated to being the best Templar he could thus not allowing distractions veer him from that course.

On the other hand, Cullen could completely surprise people and come off not being one.

Considering Alistair spoke in DAO, that the Templar Order training taught him to be a gentleman and that there was no time for personal pleasures. I simply cannot see Cullen on his time off heading down to the Blooming Rose or The Pearl for a quicky. Most likely <coughs> he took care of his pent up frustration by himself.

Many players (mostly female) view Cullen as not a virgin. I can understand that since most women I've met prefer a man who is experienced. I for one being female prefer to look at the evidence that is at hand then my own personal preference.

So unless Bioware steps forward, I'm going to continue to think Cullen is a virgin with said evidence.

I concur. We aren't likely to ever get a definitive answer about Cullen's sexual history, so I'd say that any headcanon is fair game.

The funny thing is that it really doesn't matter. Sexual experience never does. An outstanding lover is one who cares about his or her partner's happiness, not one who has an extensive Curriculum Vitae. And first encounters are always awkward, regardless of how many sexual partners a person has had. People take a while to figure out what to do with the extra arm, how long to kiss before coming up for air, whether their partner likes to be touched in what places. I mean, it isn't as if the answers are ever going to be the same for all potential partners anyway.

It is also possible to overanalyze the whole thing. They fell in love; they banged. 'Nuff said.

Really? I'm not disbelieving you, I've just almost never heard anyone's opinions on these things. Though, I'm always surprised when I learn about what women who are attracted to men think in that regard, since it's hard for me to fathom in the first place.

Ha, yeah. I was basically content not analyzing it at all since I was focused on the "fell in love" part :P
