You mean a mod to get more? There is not a formal mod for it, but you can get an infinite number of them with Cheat Engine.

first, like, 10 times I did it, it worked

last time (don't know if because of some change in patch or what) it didn't, essence of perfection was not working with 100% chance...

did not test after trespasser

Interesting.. the few times I've used them in the recent past, they always have applied the 10% boost. I have not used one since Trespasser was released, so I am not aware of any issues with it at this point, might do some experimenting this evening to see though.

I think the X% chance of masterwork idea is a bad one - it just tempts you to reload and try again. After all, if you go for that, instead of a fade touched bonus of some sort, and don't get it, you've wasted a lot of good crafting material for an armor you are unlikely to use.

Better would have been if different masterwork materials would have provided a different level of bonus: for example, ironwood would produce a 5% bonus to stats, while dragon's tooth would give you 15%.

The 100% item is in the Fade sequence of Grey Warden arc, and it's called Essence of Perfection.

However, I noticed something gaming the system on PS4 (where I have no access to mods).  It seems all those x% chance of masterwork already have it determined when you pick them up whether they result in masterwork.  So it's not "every time you use a dragon's tooth it has a flat 40% chance" but rather "40% of all dragon's teeth you pick up - determined when you pick it up - will result in a masterwork."

To game this, I save before I start crafting, and I see how many times I need to use dragon's teeth before I get a masterwork result.  If it's three times, I make three items with my worst materials, and then the fourth item with good materials.  It works every time.

A simple reload won't work because of:

As Hydwn explains, that's not how they work.

But how they do work simply encourages me not to use them. I'd rather get a guaranteed fade-touched effect than a chance at a better base item (lacking a fade-touched effect).

You have 100% chance of master crafting when you identify which one will work, just craf lv1 daggers with iron, if it works, reload and craft the item you want
