Because Salarians aren't frontline material. They are the sneaky backstabbers who will nuke you from orbit before you can even mount a defense. Salarians think fair fights are monumentally stupid. Physically they are no match for the other races (except Volus), so they concentrate on what they do best: staying the background, sabotaging and hacking and poisoning and stealing intel and cutting off your reinforcements.

 

A Salarian who does end up in a fight will do quite well but they still try not to let things get that far because their other options are better.

 

And this is why Salarians are a minority here. They do not want to fight this way in the first place.

That's what I do all the time. My pick depends 50% on challenges and 50% on consumables. Otherwise I'd be stuck playing the same 3 kits with the same weapon all the time like some other people. *coughs*DrellwithClaymore*coughs*

Scarcity fosters variety.
Which follows that one sometimes equip a survivable build that doesn't gel at all with ur playstyle.

That map would work for special powered Salarians, but humans are averse to it after 30 minutes.

Was totally scrubbing old some Gold on my wife's account today, and one of my friends seriously asked "You're not talking any equipment?", I was playing the Fury, and had no Adrenaline Modules. Proceeded to top-score, despite playing a sub-par game. Get back to the score-screen and I said "See? I didn't need any equipment."

I've been that awful person who is skimping on EQ (but spending consumables like Missiles to protect hacks/escorts/revives), and just picking BE/FE characters.

**** yeah. The Talon merc was meant to be Salarian originally. But there really should have been a Salarian Sentinel.


And to the jamoke who said Salarians arent fronline material, what the **** is a volus? What do you call a 4 man fireteam? Last I heard "spec ops" didnt refer to frontline platoons. Thinkaboudid.

What the actual f*ck, man? Arkhne nor me, on any of our accounts, have never been in your game, not even once. Neither have you ever been in any of our lobbies, by the way.

 

Furthermore, it was a game amongst our 3 friends, no outsiders involved. Generally we always equip up, as this is also one of our pet peeves. With the exception of previous agreement among friend teammates. Even without some equipment for specific kits, we'll both freely use all nukes, gels, etc.

Your priorities are totally backward then. Low N7s should totally equip, or GTFO. If you want to carry bronze scrubs to credits they didn't earn, but wont accept someone who can keep up with you with or without equipment, you seriously have a personal issue that needs adressing. A new manifest (and usually new player) with no equipment can't even contribute, and this is the **** all the PUGs have been lately. No equipment, no missiles, no medigel, bleed out every wave. I'd rather take the competent person who can still play the game than the useless corpse who slows the game down and makes it harder.

TL;DR Get over yourself.

EDIT: Other than an adrenaline module, what EQ do you think has any effect on the potency of a Fury? Biotic Explosions every 1.3 seconds with a light loadout, with the direct biotic damage so low that a Power Amp would have a 1% effect on your overall damage. Why take a weapon amp for a gun you almost never fire? Or an ammo for a gun you almost never fire?

I had quite a lot of weirdness happening in that game - powers not connecting, Claymoar shooting blanks - though lag itself wasn't all that bad. I'm not surprised to see teleporting rockets, as I already saw a few teleporting enemies...

Your dazzling intellect is tremendously impressive, so perhaps you could explain where exactly we fight in ME3MP? If those locations aren't the frontline, then I don't know where else it could be.

He was merely stating that people should wear equipment.  Whether or not you think you need it (which if you are good you probably don't) it makes the game go faster, it makes better things happen (ammo explosions, etc.) and it's generally the right thing to do.  There is literally no reason to hoard up your equipment, the only thing you can use it on is games, and every game you play you make more money than it's worth assuming you are playing silver or higher.  I don't think he meant to offend anyone.  I don't care if you are the best player in the world, you should gear up.  I mean seriously do people save them for "equipment parties" or something?

 

As for Fury, I use her with Acolyte only, so pistol rail amp is pointless, but throwing on Cryo or Warp rounds (or even Phasic) will increase the potency of that weapon by A LOT, as well as an Adrenaline Mod for speed.  Cyclonics help too if you like that kind of thing.  Or you could go Power Amp, which does fantastic things to Dark Channel (way more than the 1% you are claiming).  Geth Scanner is of course a must (for me at least).  Also, if you are almost never firing your gun, even on the Fury, hate to say it but you are doing it wrong.  BE's are very ineffective on shields.

 

Please be aware that I'm not trying to personally attack you or anyone else here.  Just saying that most players prefer to have their teammates geared up.  It's just a general sentiment.

 

Oh and I would appreciate if you guys didn't start a huge war over this on my thread, especially with all the profanity.  I personally couldn't care less, but I would rather not have the mods close my thread.  Thanks.

CRYO ROUNDS MAKES FURY BETTER? NO. It makes her worse. Cryo explosions are about a quarter of her biotic explosions. You just made the game slower. Any ammo explosion makes her slower.

 

YOU YOURSELF SAID YOU DON'T NEED A WEAPON AMP.

 

Cyclonics don't help if you don't get hit. Which a good fury shouldn't.

 

Also, I believe you are doing the Fury wrong. Your valued Acolyte works against you. 1) You WILL NOT charge it in the 1.2s cooldown of Throw, you've just slowed your BEs down, and destroyed the shields that would've kept you alive. Gratz, you just died in the spawn, further slowing the game down. Great Fury you are. Not to mention the enemy in question was Reapers. The ONLY enemy unit that your arguement makes any sense against is Marauders, who you REALLY want the shields from. Gratz, you again screwed yourself over. Great Fury you are.

 

All the points you have mentioned make the fury worse, likely dead, and the game slower. I suggest you get better at the character before trying to tell someone else how to play it.

 

I never have, and never will, be playing in OniTYME's specifically claimed lobby. And I am perfectly OK with that. Part of why I like playing with my friends is their attitude and the great time we have together, I never quicksearch Gold, and am usually the host.

 

I suggest you in future read the entire discussion before jumping in with assumptions.

Just throwing this out there, but if the enemy is a boss like a Prime or something, my Fury runs up with AF + Throw for Explosion, then Dark Channel and backs off a little, shooting Hurricane with Primed Warp Ammo bonus into another Throw Explosion, then runs back up for another AF + Throw explosion, etc

This is similar to how I play it. Though I usually open with DC as I run in, then AF/Throw, dodge back/sideways depending on enemy, spawn composition, and enemy. Usually just end up dodging back in, which syncs almost perfectly with Throw cooldown. Hurricane X with Warp Ammo is a truly powerful thing, yes, but not everybody has that, especially not those who are getting trolled by the store (You wouldn't believe how many Strength Enhancers her account has been getting, had to focus on playing the Warlord to try and use them up (and fail). Brought enough JEPs to max out ThermalClips/Medigels/OpsPacks and still mostly just trolled on equipment.

I've been trying SO HARD to get a melee Shadow to work, but lack of an omni-blade (only Knife V) is really hindering the one-hit kills. Even tried Electric Sword (due to Shields/gating), full melee fitness, and full damage Shadow Strike with Melee bonus on rank 5 of cloak. It just leaves things "almost" dead, which is enough for them to stunlock you with melee. So Warlord it is.-
