Can anybody help me?

I am stuck on the titan at the end of the descent. My characters are all level 27, and my gear is pretty good. I haven't unlocked the merchant advice or the extra merchant goods perks, although I am hoping to do this. How do i beat this guardian, he seems to kill my guys without batting a tentacle lid, then he gets angry when i take down about a quarter of his health and just annihilates me. Should i just the different skills to beat it, or do i need to put it in to tactical mode, which i have so far got through the game without needing it?

Thanks John.

Melee. Do it. Burn fast and focus on one of the nodes, you can burn him to zip.

What class/specialisation is your Inquisitor?

I found, purely by accident, that the Titan is easy as hell for an Artificer since Elemental Mines was hitting both sets of arms and the lyrium nodes so if you aren't one yourself, then take control of Varric and have him do it just be mindful of the Titan's AoE attacks.

A strategy that worked for me was to have 2 rogues in my party (archers), 1 mage and 1 warrior. Position everyone as far from the Guardian as you can. Make the mage put up the barrier whenever you can.

Make sure your warrior doesn't approach the Guardian until your rogues have begun shooting him.

I'll try post a video of myself doing it later for reference. If I remember or can stop playing Bloodborne long enough to do so lol.

Just defeated him just then. Like.. As in, just watching the end clip now.

He takes a bit of a beating, but I find the best way is to duck and weave.

If you are a rogue, Evade is your friend. Especially an archer when the spikes come up from the ground.
If you are a mage, Frost step is your friend.
If you are a warrior, Combat roll is your friend.

Out of everyone in my party, only myself and Blackwall did not drop.

Blackwall has full dragon bone armor, as much melee defence as possible and both+3 +5 guard on hit MW bonus' on his gear. As well as 5 hidden blades on his armor. He refuses to go down.

I just kept evading and lance + explosive shoting the tentacles whilst blackwall layed into the crystals underneath once they were destroyed.

As a mage, Electromancy is your friend. Grab a staff, get 40.. 50% critical chance on it, give it a 100% weapon damage chain lightning augment, and basically spam Chain lightning or lightning bolt. Elemental barrage is also good with a shock staff. Remember you will need flashpoint to remove cooldown on criticals.

Target the lyrium nodes, don't get tickled by the short feelers, and get ready to run around a lot when the titan starts drawing death circles on the ground.

Alternately, burn it fast and burn it hard. Save up focus on Sera, Varric, and yourself, have Cole drop a Mark of Death on one of the lyrium nodes, use mighty offense tonics if you have them, then unload everyone's focus and highest-damage abilities for the 8 seconds that Mark of Death lasts for. Switch back to Cole to manually trigger Mark of Death, and the titan should juuuuuust about fall over.

If it isn't dead or near death when you pop Mark of Death, try crafting some higher-level gear.

This worked for me too.  Plus, revive companions if/when they fall.

I can solo it on my lev 27 Inferno/KE. Long fight, slow going but with my barrier and gear the gives me guard, I can do it. Prefer doing it with Varric, Sera and, any one of the three warriors. Good team for that fight. Of course having a KE mage is usefull, you can use your revive ability to revive the whole team at once if you need to (as long as you stay alive)

This fight bearly took me 30 secs on my rouge on nightmare plus trials. Im not saying it just for saying it to sound like wow.

My point is with all respect. Your gear and skill level is probably not so good..

There will be a time when you come back to this fight, rape the boss and think why you had such a hard time.

A mage (necro) in my case with electro storm belt at lvl19 can take it out in about a minute alone post trespasser patch. Prior to that patch it took about 3 minutes / as no belt and no crits from key spells.

Yes I've done it with two rogues, and warrior and a mage, and some tweaking and stategic tactics based time progression thanks!

Put tank, mage, and rogue, on one node. Have upgraded potions. One defensive archer controlled by player. Tempest works great here. Dodge his arm that throws you overboard. Fully upgraded healing mist can revive a dead player. Fully upgraded regeneration potion on tank can revive a dead rogue or mage.

The guardian is weak to electric so give weapons electric runes and mages electric staff.

Me too, Assassin quizzy, Cole, Cassandra and Solas/Dorian.
It's doable, just focus on the nodes, non on the guardian itself. When the floor is shining (I think, don't remember exactly done it some months ago) move away cause that will hurt.
It will be over quite soon, as far as I recall you don't even need to destroy the nodes, just bring their health down a lot and the fight will be over :D

2x Assassins with 4 weapons with extra chance to pop hidden blades.. zzzz fight :D
