At 6:32

"The orb built up magical energy while I lay concussions for Millenia."

Did Solas just slip he was only asleep for 1000 years?

Let me make my point....

The conclave explosion happen in Tevinter calendar 2035 te.(I'm using this for a reference point)

Solas woke up a year before in 2034.

Andraste's death was in 1025 te.

Another pair of words that causes problems for non-anglophone people (like myself):

phenomenon = an event that happened

phenomena = several events, plural of phenomenon

When in doubt, words that end in "um" are singular, and the same words ending in "a" are plural :)

The phrase that caught my attention was "dark and dreaming sleep". When I first heard it I misheard it as "dark and dreamless sleep". (4:52)

I find it interesting to wonder how unconscious he actually was, given all the Dalish tales of the Dread Wolf roaming the fade.

A better question is how is he tormenting the Evanuris.

If the Evanuris are simply locked away I can't see that as harsh. Logic. And if the Old gods did truly whisper to the mages of Tevinter what ever influence they are under is implied to be a suppressing agent that is potentially weakening.

Speculation: The Old gods called the Tevinter mages to the Black City to test just how much what ever mechanism traps them had weakened. Secretly they knew the Tevinter magisters would become blighted and their trap would strengthen thus stopping them from whispering. However, their plan was long term. Having seen or tasted power some other fool if not Corypheus could devise a means to undo their predicament.

The same millennia could at the very least apply to the punishment of Evanuris  give or take some years within the thousands. I would be surprised if humans had been the only contacted beings by the Old gods.

The OP may have gotten the plural wrong, but the question is still valid if the timeline we have is accurate.  The traditional founding of Arlathan is over 7000 years before present-day events, but given that that's part of a timeline we already know is wrong in many respects, I do wonder how much time passed between the creation of the Veil and the Dragon Age.  Did the elves pre-Veil even count time as modern ones do?

They wouldn't have even had to know about the Blight.  It's always possible they had no idea what was in the Golden City, and wanted to send the magisters in to test the traps.

We still don't know what connection (if any) the Old Gods had to the Evanuris.  Were they latecomers, appearing after the Veil as humans did?  Spirits, gods, mages?  Solas has a curious way of phrasing it: "No one's ever connected the elven gods and the the old gods of Tevinter."  He never says there wasn't one, though.

Going by the nature of the Fade, it's possible that a lot less time happened on the unchanging world than it did in the Fade pre-Veil. Add the pocket dimensions and ageless immortality and I think we can forget about them having a static perception of time.

I also suspect the real timeline is a lot more contracted. The elves just think it was longer because they spent most of their times in dreamland that flows faster.
