Part of me gets it, it's random. Each day I haul my carcass up Ferelden hoping for the best, but I'm so done with farming, and I just want to settle in and do random NM runs and enjoy the castle as part of that, and not feel like it's some chore.

With all that said, I still love the game, absolutely adore the community, and treasure the band of miscreants and waistoids that make up my normal running mates that I am lucky enough to get to game with daily. It is a bit disquieting though that there is this blank spot, where as a leader board player, in the top loot tier, with a tremendous amount of time in, that I should be lacking something that I have seen tens of players get in a third of the time and effort I have put in. (Enjoy the free salt my friends...)

Many of us hold ME3 as the gold standard (I do!) but I have played this more in eleven months (1520+ hours, eek!!!) when compared to my time served on that game. It's just kind of a bummer with all that blind dedication, there is so much content many of us will never have the pleasure of enjoying.

I really don't want pay to win. I'm very open regarding pay and play.

I don't welcome RNG as attempts to increase game longevity, because that's lazy design and a good way to alienate your player base. There's so much more they could have done with Platinum purchases. Just off the top of my head, for example: cosmetic customization. They coulda gone all wacky skins and themes. They could have done exp/gold boost consumables.

They could have implemented items in the shop as a token system, where you collect tokens by downing bosses and trade X amount of them in for your desired item. Heck, make items cost different kinds of tokens with the different faction bosses dropping the different tokens. Add in a Platinum chest with an assortment of tokens.

I feel like the way they implemented the loot system actually ended up hurting their Platinum sales in the long run. I bought a bit of Plat way back when the game came out to see if it actually gave you anything decent. As soon as I realized that it was still the same "Screw You RNG System" I went "Nope" and never bought Plat again. If their microtransaction system had offered something fun and meaningful, I'd probably have bought more over the lifespan of the game.

I think the Platinum system is working as intended.

Having ridiculously stunted progresion usually turns new players to purchase platinum, they get their money from predatory tactics that new players are unaware of the actual chances or loot progression system.

These are the types of players who will buy once and never return to the game because they felt like their monetary value did not convert into a reward necessary.

They will always make more money from these kinds of players compared to commited players.

Now it is getting progressively harder to obtain gold due to not being able to complete challenges (inquisition captian).

It's been over a year and the game hasn't increased gold drops, they still are stunting the progression of new players by material gating a dragon that is more likely to drop a turd than anything useful and on a map that gives half the amount of gold that the others do, but takes considerably longer.

It's okay, you got the one amulet to rule them all...  that amulet is better than any of the level 27s (except maybe bosun's blade).

lol,

You're joking right? Campout if you have the amulet and you're complaining...shakes head.

Yes, that was my point. I enjoy the core multiplayer experience, warts and twerking as intended and all. They got about 10 bucks from me with the microtransaction system they (didn't) design. If they'd had meaningful, positive microtransactions, they would have gotten a lot more.

The level 27 items have been removed from the game until further notice.   Spend at your peril.

One of my favorite subjects to rant about.

Roughly 2.2 mil so far.

Still missing the Hakkon Bow & 1h sword.

Still missing the Rare to Unique Bow & Maul weapon transitions.

Estimate at least 225+  NM Dragon runs. Not exactly certain the of the actual number because the counter was broken at inception. My best guess is 250+. Hakkons got thrown into the overall RNG pool. So much for % based chances being acurate in the slightest. If indeed they ever were.

Everytime I make a NM run at the Dragon it now seems like an awful waste of possibly gaining more XP not doing so.Still I go along hopefully, athough I know I'm wasting effort.

I am now really bored with getting multiple repeats of the same belts, amulets & amour upgrades.I would love to finish off my Hunter to 250 with the Hakkon Bow.

Don't get me wrong, I'm doing ok with Daggers and Staffs compared to some. For that I feel lucky. It's just when you hear of others getting Mondo loot draws with significantly less gold earned, chest looted or bought, Dragons slayed and less time overall in game, it really makes me think the RNG hates me! LOL Or the loot table is A RNG fairy tale spun from too many doughnuts & too much jolt cola.

I wouldn't mind a bit of clarification on this issue as these seem to be harder to get than the Hakkon weapons & worse yet, most really aren't as good as the Hakkons. (minus the Bosun's Blade used in conjunction with the Hakkon dagger or possibly the bow Andruil's Gift if you don't already have the Hakkon bow or Heart string bow).

Doesn't make much sense to add weapons that no one is able to get & it ends up discouraging people. Most folks have already faced enough heartache in not getting Hakkon weapons.

I do actually have the Dancer's Axe as my only Lv.27 ...but it's more of a novelty weapon than anything. The Whirlwind regular attack gets old & isn't that strong nor does it stack/piggyback off of the actual skill ability. It also takes FOREVER to try & "fight" a pot to collect gold as the swing keeps going over the top of it. Epic Fail...

This applies to all the 27's except the Dagger.

The level 25 amulet is the gamechanger.

Yes and the amulet makes sure that you earn more gold, since will not be interrupted while taking supplies (you're sure to get the gold)

2 x WIN = UBAR Amulet + Saarabus on FC.

The Saarebas can bypass both doors on act 3 and the one on act 4 for more gold/items (if not correct classes to open door in team) and the amulet will make sure that you are not interrupted when taking the supplies or t-bagging/reviving team members.

Everyone knows one of the definitions of insanity I assume?

The one that identifies doing something over and over again, continually hoping for a different result that never comes?

RNG nicely encapsulates this theory into actual practice for me.

DITTO for NM FC.

On the other hand, I got Bosun's Blade a while ago. It's really good.

Just enough to keep me merrilly dancing down the insanity path...

If I personally had the power to remove a single piece of... nonsense (if you get me) from the average person's understanding of the way the mind works, it would be this.

It seems there are a lot of people in this thread with a poor understanding of statistics. I find the lack of faith disturbing...

After 190 runs, with two Hakkon to show for it, having a 140ish dry streak with a "5%" chance, I would actually pay for the other 3 Hakkons just to not play that damnable castle again.
