 This was especially egregious with my dwarf lady. I was like... I fit! I definitely fit! There's like a mile between these humans' legs, I SHOULD FIT!

:D :D :D
Thanks, you made me laugh :D

Here is my other gripe:
Whenever I make a combo of pull of the abyss + fire mine, I have to be very careful NOT to place the fire glyph right under the center 'eye' of the pull. Otherwise, when the mine detonates, it doesn't burn the enemies like it's suposed to, but send them catapulting right infront of my face in full health >=O .. wth maaannn...
Am I the only one with this problem? :/

My pets of peevish-ness:

1. That annoying "fly buzzing" sound in the Exalted Plains.

2. The fact that Cassandra stands like she has a load in her pants.

3. The NPCs who yell, "BLAAAAAAA!" before running into battle.

4.  I really hate how fire is handled.  Things are on fire and they just sort of.....stay on fire.

5.  The soldiers of the Inquisition who bear the mark of the Inquisition (hairy eyeball) on their butts and groins.

Oh......and the stupid Chantry head gear.

Speaking of, why did they feel the need to redesign the chantry robes yet again after DA2? The DA2 look was fine.

I thought it was because Ferelden chantry robes are different from Kirkwall chantry robes which are different from Orlesian chantry robes? That would kind of makes sense to me.

I agree that the headgear is stupid looking, though. Really stupid looking.

Well, there are a few Ferelden Chantry members wearing the new stuff.

Did you notice that Mother Giselle gets new headgear in Trespasser?  Also, I hope if you are going to have to wear a ridiculous hat like that that it is hollow up there so as to not weigh you down.

I think it would be an interesting dynamic if they could get it to work well. In DAI there were instances where your PC flirted with, and was turned down by, whichever NPC. But as far as I know none of those were done in a mean way, more along the lines of, "I'm sorry, I'm not really interested." So, why can't the player have similar options? Aside from the disapproval points, I think one of the reasons that turning down Anders bothered people was because of Hawke's tone.

It would be an interesting way to further differentiate the LIs from each other. Some people are flirty, and some aren't, and I think this should be reflected. But please don't make me feel like a total a-hole just because I didn't want to give someone the wrong idea.

Dorian does this.

You can actually have your PC tell him to knock it off. (Well what the PC says is "I rather you not speak to me that way.")

Dorian initiates flirting completely on his own without the player EVER hitting a single <3 option? If that's the case then I must admit that I'm surprised.

I think so I'd have to reload to check.

That said the only flirt I take with him is the one during his personal quest where your PC can admit to also enjoying the company of men (why that counts as a flirt baffles me considering I was almost locked in with Bull at the time.) so I'll see if he still does it if I don't take it.

Hm so maybe that flirt did make the difference.

edit: And it does. Okay then. Makes sense though at the very least.

My female flirted with him and he would comment on how he loved watching her walk away. After we find out the truth about him, you can tell him you feel led on or tell him to not stop flirting. I tell him not to stop and it's so cute when he talks to you sometimes.

Ah OK. I was thinking that it was odd. Not only because of my previous remarks regarding developer decisions, but also because it doesn't actually seem like Dorian would initiate. I know he comes across as flirty and such, but given his history and the current circumstances, I don't think that's something he would actually do on his own without at least some encouragement first, either from a playful female friend or a guy who might also just be playful, or actually interested.

To be fair though I don't blame them (and honestly I prefer it this way because 9 times out of 10 when the NPC does flirt first you are forced to either be accepting (stupid smirk at Asari/Isabela) or overly aggressive with the no (Anders). Just rather avoid that to begin with.

Wait lol. So I guess the "I don't want you talking to me that way." Is there for people that accidentally hit a heart? Lolerskates. Reminds me of the ABORT right before Anders kiss in DA2.

As others have posted, "I do rather like watching you leave" is one of his standard exit lines. Folks here are reporting that he doesn't say it unless your character has flirted with him at least once, whether casually or in earnest, and that's fine... but I wouldn't mind at all if he said that with no provocation at all. Yeah, it's flirty, but it's really, really mild as far as flirts go, and I don't find it offensive in the slightest. Heck, I love that line. If your character is female, Sera will say "Her gracious ladybits," even if you don't flirt, and I don't recall reading any complaints about that. Although, to be honest, I'm not as fond of Sera's line as I am of Dorian's. Maybe because Dorian says it to both men and women and Sera only says it to women? She says "lordybloomers" to men, which isn't really the same thing. It isn't a major annoyance, though! Not by a long shot.

In general, I don't mind when NPCs fllirt with the PC. People will do that, and I don't take offense. What I don't like is when your character flirts with another character with no input from you. That happened twice with Isabela in DA2 and once with Leliana. They managed to avoid doing it in DAI, and I hope that trend continues.

How I can't respond to Bianca after that "feed you your own eyeballs" line. :P  I know that's mostly my wounded Player Ego talking, but that one line annoyed me so much!

And on a more serious note, I really, really want the tactics system back.

I know it's damn childish but I dread playing through Varric's quest because of this line. You can say some real dickish things to your companions for no reason but here we don't get to respond somehow at least? Wouldn't even have minded some Greatly Disapproves on Varric's part. Not like I can't destroy his stoopid Red Lyrium thingies to get things right again. :bandit:

Exactly. Varric's one of the easiest companions to get approval from. He'll get over it if I insult his girlfriend once for threatening to *mutilate* me.

I dislike staves as a combat weapon. I'd rather they stay on your back/holding place until you cast big spells that require the staves ability to 'focus' magic. I dunno slinging chain lightning, energy barrage, and immolate with your hands sounds so cool. Use the staff for the big stuff like Static Cage, Blizzard, etc.

Well the problem with this is they would have to rework the mage combat model. Even in DAO you were throwing bolts with your staff while you were waiting for mana or spell cooldowns -- negated at higher levels by the large mana pool and variety of spells, meaning you always had something to cast -- they just got extreme with the animations in DA2 and DAI, as well as having an actual DAI skill (barrage) based around shooting bolts from the staff (one of my favorites).

The solution to not using the staff as filler would be to have a few core spells -- low cost, low damage, mostly single-target, that the player fired off continuously as they waited for The Big One to come off cooldown, or for the mana to accumulate for its use. I'm not sure if I like this idea, simply because it would remind me of the World of Warcraft caster combat model where you are continually casting something and you typically have a set rotation to maintain maximum DPS, and if you fall away from this your DPS drops like a rock. I think this would make the mage class seem too tedious during general combat.

I also don't think it's very 'realistic' (yes, I know...) In the DA novels, the combat scenes where mages are involved typically see the mage hanging back, waiting for the best opportunity to throw out a fireball or whathaveyou. And of course they also must be wary of the positioning of allies (friendly fire!) relative to the enemy. It actually takes a lot of effort and concentration to fight with magic, something that hasn't really been reflected in the games, and can't be if you are to keep the three classes on an even level as far as playability.

In short, both of the non-mage classes have an auto-attack that they can use as filler, and the mage class should have something similar. Unfortunately this involves using the staff. BUT I do think that they should try to find a better balance between auto-attack filler, and also tone down the animation a bit. The DAO staff animation was terrible, but the DA2 and DAI style go to the opposite extreme. There needs to be a balance.

The one on the spire?

My only problem with that shard is that you want you to try to parkour when they give you no ability to parkour.  Don't try to make me pull an Ezio Auditore if you aren't going to give me legitimate climbing skills in order to do so.

Question: Is it possible to hit the shards with a Grappling Chain ability? I have not used these talents, but these could present a solution if viable.
