My Inquisitors never claim to be "holy" or "heralds" or anything. Still, no one respects it and they keep calling them "Your Worship" and claiming they're sent from above, when they always clarify they disagree and they never claim themselves to be holy or anything.

It's like whatever the Inquisitor thinks doesn't really matter that much to Thedas, when I look at the big picture.

Am currently in the same boat with an Elven Mage Inq. But it may be easier to believe the legend, as least for those inside the Chantry. The JoH DLC is a fine example of this occurrence.

Pet peeves? other then the animation for walking changing depending on cutscene I don't really have just one..

1: why do so many npc's feel they need to look down on my Inquisitor by standing on chairs/crates while I chat to them?

Spoiler

2. having to initiate all flirts or romances, I feel like a creep doing that, let the companions initiate some "I like you" dialogue first please. Also bring back jealousy, no jealousy comment when my Inky flirts with everyone she can even when in a romance is so boring. Yeah I know lots of people don't like that but it's my pet peeve.

3. The little dance move after closing a rift. Ok, not a pet peeve, more of a lol

Spoiler

But my major, real pet peeve of DAI?

The getting knocked over when in combat animation.. so unflattering. Seriously!

Spoiler

Uncertain, but #1 may have been fixed in the latest patch. Noticed that The Lion Keep steward was not doing this any more.

I have a few.

The goat in the Cross Roads that occasionally is in the elf's house (the one with the sick wife). It perches on top of the beam. It hasn't been there recently... hoping it got fixed :P It was a guarantee in each game I played. Funny the first 2 times... not so much after.

Requisition officer. Simple enough. LEAVE. ME. ALONE. I DON'T WANT YOUR CRAP.

When companions push me off things... and I die. Even more irritating after I do the 'Hold' command.

All the repetitive ambient dialogue. 'Tired of waiting around.' etc... all of it. Including the chanters at Haven. I mean... I shouldn't be able to do this...

'DWARVEN CRAFTS! FINE DWARVEN CRAFTS! Straight from Orzamarr! Can't find better!'

Gorim, Shut up! mod is awesome.

1. Krem started a fashion trend?

2. Apparently this was dropped after the negative reaction to Anders' unprompted flirting in DA2.  There are a few jelously comments, but they're more lowkey than the last games.  There's one from Sera if you lock in with someone else than try to start a romance with her.

First off, I do love this game.  Almost all the things I didn't like about it were minor :P

While one pet peeve of mine - the "hold position" problem - is universal here, I'm surprised not to find my other one: filling requisitions.

On my fifth and "canon" playthrough now, I'm trying to find everything - complete every collection, collect every codex, find every requisition, etc.  Filling all requisitions at least once requires more planning than anything in the game.

To wit:

  • The Hinterlands tapestry requisition pops fourth in the line of requisitions whenever you play.  It requires decorative gems dropped by Templars - the ordinary, non-red kind in the Hinterlands.  The Dwarven puzzle box pops second in that line, and requires obsidian.  Ever try getting obsidian before Skyhold...?  One node pops sometimes in the southwest of the map, and otherwise the only place you'll find it is by that big dragon.  And you can easily get the Templars to (almost) completely stop spawning by clearing out their camp, which I've done at level 4.  Now the Black Emproium sells obsidian as of level 8, but that still means grinding to be able to buy it and leaving the templars alive until you can collect gems (which they only drop once you have the requisition).
  • Don't get me started on locks, though I haven't seen that requisition yet.  Maybe they took it out with a patch?
  • Then there's Armour Requisition on the Plains, where the Exalted Plains requisition requires you to get malachite...which exists nowhere on the plains.  It is a very low drop from Outlaws in the Hinterlands (again) who you can clear out by level 10...long before you get to the Exalted Plains.
  • Elixir Requisition for the Fallow Mire can pop infinite times, but the items used to make it are finite.

The list goes on.  Whoever planned those was careless or sadistic :P

I hate that when you read the description of a War Table Mission the game removes the light mark over it and then you cannot distinguish it anymore from the finished quests.

I believe Obsidian may be found in the Hinterlands at the sites that contain rebel Mages, the wolf controlling demon, bears, and that Dragon. However, it may be faster to take a break from the sunshine, and head elsewhere; then return.

I feel like a total creep initiating all the flirting. It's just so awkward to me... possibly because I'm really shy in real life when it comes to flirting. It just doesn't suit me, and it feels so weird to make my Inquisitor flirt.

Maybe I'd like the romanceable NPCs to take the first step, I don't know. (I know many players disliked that about Anders back in DA2, but I was fine with it, because it's not like he forces Hawke or anything.)

I just started a gameplay with a female Qunari and Sera does kind of seem interested (and fascinated with Qunari women in general,) so maybe she's a bit of an exception in this case.

I don't like the jealousy at all, though. I'm glad that's mostly gone.

I thought that too.  When I tried it, though, I found only onyx in the non-dragon locations :(

It's a moot point beause I've finished it now, and I'm not working on malachite, but fighting the dragon would have meant more grinding than getting to use the Black Emporium.  Too bad the Emporium doesn't sell locks or decorative rocks (unless you count Meredith!)

Armor Requisition in the Plains and Prisoner Cages in the Hinderlands is not getting done on my canon playthrough. I'm level 26 and just have the Hissing Waste and main quest left. I had already killed all the bandits by the time I got Cages, and malachite is a valuable! I probably sold fifty of those things before I got that requisition.

Mounts. They arrive by your side when you whistle for them, but sometimes they appear either teetering over a rocky cliff; on top of a merchant's wagon or end up in the bushes.

I actually yelled "SHUT UP COLE" at the screen after the 5th time he repeated himself telling me to go there. I finally gave in and when I got there, they were all fighting off the many corpses and I was being killed by an arrow. Nice...

There's some obsidian in one of the locked houses in Redcliffe. You need the Deft Hands perk to get in but can at least bypass the dragon.

My biggest peeve in the game is that there really isn't much tactical gameplay in this tactical rpg. In Dragon Age origins, you could tell your healer to heal/buff this person when they have reached x amount of health/stamina. You could specify exactly when or who to use abilities on, making it to where very little micromanaging was needed. In DAI, you pretty much have to micromanage everything, or your comps will waste abilities, or your support doesn't cast their buffs on who you want them to.. The only tactical option I found useful was the health potion option.

I also want to note micromanaging everything isn't so bad, what makes it a pain in the ass, is that you have no way to keep track on your companions cool-downs.

I get peeved by having to trade off between companion dialogue, and the horse.

I like your companions, Bioware. But I also like not taking fifteen minutes to run everywhere.

Maybe next game we can get everyone mounted up?

The amount of littering done after drinking a health potion. I doubt glass woud have been cheap back then, just save it and use it for other potions. What really bugs me though is the fact that they can't simply drop the bottles or place it on the ground, they have to smash it. If someone tripped and fell they'd have hands full of glass shards.

This is something I don't like, but I don't count it as minor. To me, this was a MAJOR set back for Dragon Age. I used to love the tactics system from the old engine. I could set my team up to run like a fine Swiss watch. Now, it's all "flip, flip, drink a tonic, flip, flip, regeneration potion, flip, flip run away from the melee, Solas! Flip, flip, (That's me manually flipping from character to character.)  I miss TACTICS! I don't like stop action use the little pointy arrows thing, I like to set tactics ahead of time so I can play in real time.

P.S. In Origins, I even went in and set tactics for the generic mage and soldier before fighting my way up the Tower of Ishal!.

Agreed, this is beyond pet peeve, it's a huge step back for the series. Having companions flail random abilities around is so frustrating when you know you could have made them work so much better with just a few tactical adjustments.

DAO: quickly set up Alistair to Smite every mage we see, never get caught by a Crushing Prison again.

DAI: Cassandra wastes her Spell Purge cooldowns on every fennec or nug that happens to run by, never has it available when that Emissary is almost killing you.
