This may be a PC-specific thing, but if you're within range, you can hit "interact" while the conversation is underway. This will force the NPC to remain stationary for the duration of the conversation... but it also means that the conversation camera will become fixed, and you'll probably wind up looking at your Inquisitor's left shoulderblade and part of some ambient keg.
And, as a related annoyance, it's probably good that you can't aggro NPCs simply by using a combat move in their presence. I have lost count of the number of conversations I've accidentally aborted with an ill-timed Winter's Grasp.
Thanks- I'll have to keep an eye out for that this next playthrough. I have no problem with the camera setting me into a silly position for the conversation (esp. since I can just swivel the camera to get a better angle), but lost content... DA content is why I play DA.
Another peeve worth mentioning: the 250-save limit. Not sure if anyone else even has this issue (maybe I just save too much), but I reached the limit about 2/3 through my first playthrough. If you play offline it's no problem since the limit is on Cloud saves, not on the local save folder, but no way am I playing offline. I still gots me some achievements to get! For sure I never had any limit in DAO, having completed DAO with a number of characters, always playing online, and never encountering one. In order to start a new character in DAI I had to delete saves from my other DAI characters, re-save the saves I wanted to, erm, save (because there's no way to identify them in the Bioware/DAI save folder other than by the date they were saved), then remove all the saves prior to the re-saved saves to an archive folder, effectively putting my first character in storage. I'd originally deleted all the saves from the middle 1/3 of my 1st character's saves simply to make room, but I still ended up with an archive of her saves that went over 150. Maybe I'll have to be less conscientious about saving at every significant juncture, but regardless I'll have to do this archiving shuffle every time I get a full playthrough and start another character in earnest.
