Several of mine have already been mentioned.  One that hasn't is: the fact that NPCs often move around when you're trying to talk to them. (Corporal Vale, Mayor Dedrick, Horsemaster Dennet, and a bunch of others do this.)  Often, when they get far enough away, the conversation will end prematurely.  So I end up having to follow them around to keep the conversation going.

STAND STILL, DAMMIT!!

Seriously, if I'm making conversation with an NPC, they should stop their wandering animations and stand still.

Yes, I've lost conversation lines due to this. The mechanic of having us auto-start a discussion with an NPC due entirely to proximity is- well, not so good- but it'd be more acceptable if it would also lock in the NPC to stay put once it begins... Aw, I could complain indefinitely until one would hardly recognize I actually like the game a lot. :D

I'm sure this has probably been brought up, but combat war cries...when you accidentally kill a fox or a nug.

Seriously.

My Inquisitor crying out, "DIE!" when some poor fox runs through the area.

What kind of sadistic witch are you, woman???

But there's a missed codices store in Val Royeaux....

Some codices are only unlocked via specific game choices, or even specific imports from the Keep. So you can't actually unlock every single codex in the game. This was true for DAO and DA2 as well. And of course if you miss some in Trespasser you can't go to the store for those.

LOL I've noticed this exact same thing, particularly with nugs. "Geez, it's just a nug." Poor thing.

Yes! The little Fennec Foxes are the true victims in DAI They keep getting caught in the crossfire. I frantically spam Disengage when it happens, but it seldom works.

Actually I should add to my original post about the Inquisitor being an idiot. It's not that he/she asks the wrong questions, but sometimes it's also the dialogue wheel. What it says and what he/she says when you select it never comes out as it seemed. THAT is what drives me crazy and makes RPing a bit harder.

Yep and sometimes the lines are just off..

And the pick up lines! Jeez!! Every time my inquisitors try to pull the moves.. I just wanna crawl onto a hole and die.

For me it's the dragon decor for skyhold which I like, the red/pink dragon eggs when you are leaving to your chamber in the end mission and everyone bows to you, you can't see anyone because of the red/pink dragon egg is right in front of your face haha

It's always interesting to see with which gusto the companions utterly annihilate nugs and fennec's just because your spell clipped them a bit.

Here's one.

Our title. The leader of the Inquisition should not be called The Inquisitor. That's like if the leader of the Templars was called The Templar.

We should be First Inquisitor or Grand Inquisitor or Lord Inquisitor or something. Inquisitors should be everyone we send out into the field.

PREACH! And the fact that you need a rogue to open locks. I have Iron Bull with me. He has horns. Ram that door! I'm a mage that summons the power of the fade. Blast it to smithereens!

Shield Bash breaks any non-masterwork doors, as does Stonefist.

I do miss a recall option for the party. There are times when I am in need of a tactical retreat, but because of one reason or another, these avengers refuse to assemble. Disengage works occasionally, but not when the Inq is in stealth, and I would like to switch staves sooner rather than later.

This may be a PC-specific thing, but if you're within range, you can hit "interact" while the conversation is underway. This will force the NPC to remain stationary for the duration of the conversation... but it also means that the conversation camera will become fixed, and you'll probably wind up looking at your Inquisitor's left shoulderblade and part of some ambient keg.

And, as a related annoyance, it's probably good that you can't aggro NPCs simply by using a combat move in their presence. I have lost count of the number of conversations I've accidentally aborted with an ill-timed Winter's Grasp.

Off topic, but continuing this, are there any warrior-door replacements?  I'd love to run with an all mage party.

Thanks- I'll have to keep an eye out for that this next playthrough. I have no problem with the camera setting me into a silly position for the conversation (esp. since I can just swivel the camera to get a better angle), but lost content... DA content is why I play DA.

Another peeve worth mentioning: the 250-save limit. Not sure if anyone else even has this issue (maybe I just save too much), but I reached the limit about 2/3 through my first playthrough. If you play offline it's no problem since the limit is on Cloud saves, not on the local save folder, but no way am I playing offline. I still gots me some achievements to get! For sure I never had any limit in DAO, having completed DAO with a number of characters, always playing online, and never encountering one. In order to start a new character in DAI I had to delete saves from my other DAI characters, re-save the saves I wanted to, erm, save (because there's no way to identify them in the Bioware/DAI save folder other than by the date they were saved), then remove all the saves prior to the re-saved saves to an archive folder, effectively putting my first character in storage. I'd originally deleted all the saves from the middle 1/3 of my 1st character's saves simply to make room, but I still ended up with an archive of her saves that went over 150. Maybe I'll have to be less conscientious about saving at every significant juncture, but regardless I'll have to do this archiving shuffle every time I get a full playthrough and start another character in earnest.

You don't have to sync your saves with the cloud for achievements to update. Nor do you have to play online for achievements to update. I have the cloud saving turned off, and play in offline mode 99% of the time, and have since shortly after release, and I get achievements just fine.

Harrumph. Is there any other advantage to being online that I'd be missing? If not, I'll just go that way. What about the Golden Nug?

You can even play online and set your preferences to save locally only and ignore cloud saves. That's what I do.

Another option is to save your games locally and periodically move the saves to another directory in your system. That will enable you to label the folder with the relevent info, e.g. "Evelyn Trevelyan, "Between IYHSB and HLtA", Varric_And_Cassandra_Interactions". It's a little more work than an infinite number of custom-labeled saves, but it works. Then, if you want to reload an old save, you just find the appropriate folder, copy the save, and paste it in your active game directory.

Remember, you only need to be online when you are actively synchronizing your collectibles with the Golden Nug. There is nothing to prevent your from connecting, synchronizing your collectibles, and then immediately going offline.

You have to log in to use the Golden Nug, but once you sync you can go offline again. If you've already played through the end of the game and done a Golden Nug sync, once you start a new game the platform where it appears in Haven (and Skyhold) will be empty until you play while logged in again.

This is what I do. I just copy the saves over to a folder at significant points (arriving at Skyhold and such).

Templar helmets you craft/find don't have feathers in them like npc Templars.
