Believe it or not, even the Promotion Lords were there at some point and others took the time to teach us. I remember when the V3ganator used to die in Perilous. hahahaha.

Since we are sharing our humble origins, I think I was in my 40s feeling proud and puffed up about my stats when I first met Rundagutz. Back then, the "promotion lords" I leeched off of were Pifffle, BiskottiD, Spacemonkey. To this day, I still don't know if I simply crashed their games or they actually invited me (how embarrassing if the former is true). Big mistake for you to friend me if this were true, Pifffle.
Playing katari back then in the "big leagues" of perilous, I remember a frequent scenario of getting touched by a fire wraith and rapidly burning to death with the katari kind of screaming. Do I use a pot? Do I let myself die and get picked up? Man, its only 30 secs into wave 1 how scrubby!

I had many fair share of teachers/advisors in my day. I learned by asking questions, watching how people play, or by simply being told that my build sucks. lol. Iamjamiam was the first to give me advice along with Mrmckillu. Lylithe27 and Aerakyl showed me many things in the beginning. Irier, Spacemonkey, Piffle, BiskottiD, Shelledfade, Veramis, Nranola, and SpaceV3gan showed me stuff as well. But out of all people, I think I learned the most from Drasca (I have to give Drasca props on this).
After my 3 month break, my peer group and people I used to carry brought me back up to speed. One person that really took the time to show me the ropes again was Bruh. He likes to say he was carrying me, but it wasn't like I was dead weight. lol.
