It is probably because her original armors were awesome looking.   I don't know why everyone hates the Avvar in drakescale, I thought he looks bad ass.   I thought the T2 helm looks like a jester hat.

 

I kind of wish the drakescale is metallic black and gold colors.   I think that would have look much better.

The Avvar looks terrible in everything IMO, but I like Drakescale a lot on most characters, and I prefer it by far to T1 or T2 on the Avvar. Whoever said it was the biggest improvement on Luka was right though, it's awesome on her.
