Because I love Frostback basin. It's such a beautiful area.
After the main quest it turns into night, but I love it's brightness more.
The place is a marvel, indeed.

My favourite map in the game next to the Emerald Graves. I found myself enjoying the minor quests there, particularly with the Avvars. I also loved the revelation at the end.
I, like many, have been openly (and I still feel rightly) critical of Inquisition for being too much like an MMO -- but I have to admit that I'm enjoying Jaws of Hakkon.
It is an exceptionally beautiful environment, and its story about warring Avvar tribes is more interesting than any side-quest we encountered in the main game.
But I think another reason I'm enjoying it is because I'm playing it after the main quest. Now that Corypheus has been defeated, it actually makes sense that my Inquisitor and her companions would spend weeks camped in a remote location, researching, exploring, gathering resources, and forging new alliances. In the main game it didn't make sense to do any of these things because we were supposed to be trying to save the world from a darkspawn magister with a fetish for tearing reality asunder. lol
Jaws of Hakkon at least shows that large, open environments can be enjoyable to play through if they boast stories and characters interesting enough to justify their existence, and if they don't pull you kicking and screaming out of the main campaign to complete trivial chores.
I've always maintained that my problem with Inquisition isn't the environments. They're stunning. My problem is the way they're used (or, rather, underused ... wasted).
Jaws of Hakkon isn't perfect. (I still want the more personal cinematic camera to return during conversations. The characters only really come alive when you can see them up-close.) But it's a definite step in the right direction.
P.S. Another good thing about Jaws of Hakkon is the combat, which is very challenging on Nightmare difficulty thanks to the Hakkonites' armour- and barrier-penetrating weapons. For the first time in the entire game I've been forced to make proper use of the tactical camera to win battles.
~Adds myself to the roster of Frostback lovers~
The zone really is awesome - it's the first time in game that I have felt compelled to do screenshots. And the Avvar people tickled my fancy. Plus, Ameridan was the coolest.
(In my humble opinion)

I agree, it is gorgeous. I think it's the most lovingly crafted area in the entire game.
I never went back after finishing the area. Does it go back to day after you leave and return?
Arbor Wilds > Frostback Basin
But yeah, 2nd place is not that bad and Arbor Wilds is a very small place.
I'd like to add that the tree-houses made me imagine just how good Kashyyyk, the wookie homeworld, would look if BioWare ever made KOTOR 3.
The night version was pretty nice too.

Nope. It's permanently night, much like how Crestwood goes permanently day after you get out of the cave.
JoH was a great DLC. Only natural you'd want to stay in it, especially considering the following two DLCs are garbage.
First time I beat it I had missed a ton of side quests and had no idea it would be at night forever. That was so much fun! ![]()
It was a nice area ![]()
Everything about that place gave me that crisp, autumn vibe.
One of the few criticisms I have of the area is that it can be a bit difficult to navigate some regions once it turns to night.
But you can easily do all of the optional content before completing the main quest, and there's not much reason to return to the area afterward.
Would have been really nice to have day/night cycles.... just saying.

Ditto to the positive waves generated for Jaws of Hakkon!!
Does anyone else think that an Avvar companion might be possible for DA4? Chief Movran the Under could have been exiled to Tevinter by the Inquisitor (plus all the weapons that his clan could carry) after the events of the Fallow Mire.

For a game to be truly immersive it has to feel like you spend time there... since the weather never cycles, no day/night cycle... it feels really bland.
I know first and foremost a huge problem with this was the fact lastgen consoles existed for the base game. However, in future titles, I see this being no issue and truly hope biovar commits to it.

While this is OT... I wouldn't mind a 'true' Avvar companion... but if it really is centered in the Imperium... thats a hard tie in.
