So im playing through The Descent with my Rift Mage and keep encountering a weird problem.

Throughout all of the base game and Jaws of Hakkon my opening to every battle has similar ever since I got my specialisation.

Pull of the Abyss to get as many weakened mobs grouped at once as possible, Barrier myself to power up my Fire Mine then Fire Mine in the center. A second or two later, I get a fire explosion that usually hits for at least 10k.

But ever since starting The Descent, things have been getting weird.

Now, between laying the Fire Mine and it being ready to explode, the Darkspawn get yanked across the map to one of my party members. At first I thought Bull and Cassandra were being idiots with Grappling Chain, so I disabled it but have noticed it still keeps happening and they get pulled to non warriors as well, (Sera and Magequisitor, to be specific).

I then thought it may be some escape skill the shrieks have, but hurlock archers keep doing it too. Not much reason for archers to have an escape skill that places them next to their attacker.

So, what the **** is going on here?

I noticed that as well last night.... It's not really affecting my game really, but it is kinda annoying....

I'm so overlevelled and powerful, that Cassandra can just fight 5 ppl at once and still have full health and guard lol

Pull of the abyss temporarily clusters enemies. If it ends and when it ends those enemies are teleported sort of randomly where the game "calculates" they intended to go should no pota have happened. Prior to new trials and dlcs etc usually one could illiminate them really quickly before pota ends. I suggest throwing an ice mine or lightning cage at the clustered enemies once they are gathered by pota to immobilize them longer.

Pull of the Abyss will occasionally cause enemies to warp to your face after the spell ends.

This issue has been in the game since release. It's possible the increased mob sizes in Descent is making it more noticeable and/or causing it to happen more often for you.

I used to recommend putting a Static Cage on top of the enemies after you cast Pull of the Abyss, but that doesn't really seem to work anymore with Patch 10 (though it's possible I've just been fighting a lot of enemies that are immune to the effect).
