Hakkon salvaging

No that's not true. I had 3 but was taking forever to get my 4th (Sorry it took Snakebite that long for his 5th, I was just close to 100 games waiting for my 4th so not fair to say forever...lol) and all mine were low base dmg rolls so I salvaged all 3 and within less than 100 games after salvaging I had all 5.
RNG is RNG so while you could do this and not be as lucky as me, the takeaway I had was that if you really wanted to play with 1-3 of these and were not that bothered with wanting all 5 then salvaging to get back to the higher drop rates and going for a specific weapon is fine, as long as you know you could be unlucky too and it take longer to get all this way. Once you get 3 though that 2% can be rough for your 4th and 5th and if your not a gambler at heart I'd prob not salvage since you will beat yourself up over it if RNG is unkind.
You say "some peps" did this with no success, if it's to get the first 1-3 then it can (means possible but not guaranteed) be worth it, but never salvage your 4th as it's the same drop rate as getting the 5th so no advantage, but going after a specific weapon as your first is where this pays off the most, as 15% is a favorable drop rate if you care about 1 type of Hakkon more than the others.

Drop rate is just too low and you could go hundreds of games before getting another
It doesn't ruin your chances. It might ruin your resolve to play though.

Once you are able to get Hakkons the only thing that effects its drop chance is how many you have, the more you have the less the chance and vice versaI'm not sure I understand this? I'm a new player, I recently got a stone stalker rare dagger and a lyrium infused staff. The dagger is outstanding. I'm not sure how that will affect hakkon drop rates?

Those are Lv. 26 blue rares that you need to keep in your inventory (along with any other Lv. 26 blue rares) to get the Lv .26 purple unique versions of them to drop from the dragon.
Back on topic, I can't really see the point in salvaging a Hakkon weapon seeing that everyone I know who has done so has regretted it as well as gone many games without getting another. Especially if it's just because of the weapon stat range which isn't a huge difference in the big picture:

Hakkon's Honor (1h sword): 224 – 233Hakkon's Valor (2h sword): 311 – 324Hakkon's Wisdom (staff): 87 – 89Hakkon's Mercy (dagger): 166 – 172Hakkon's Wrath (bow): 187 – 193
I salvaged my Staff. It was my first Hakkon, and after 25 more NM dragon extractions I gave up on it.
Still glad I did it. I dont like mages much, nor at the time could anyone use it effectively besides AW.
And im sure much to the chagrin of some players, im thinking about salvaging my 2h now (315 damage, so if it did drop again it would probably be better). I never really got into reaver or Avaar, and I've stopped liking Katari.
I only really see myself playing Rogues or S+B characters in the future, so im really hurting for either the dagger or 1h (RNG somehow found me worthy of obtaining a max damage bow).

If you get a better you hander play Reaver, she does amazing damage, try the build I use! Obviously with a few tweaks if you don't have The Amulet!I salvaged my Staff. It was my first Hakkon, and after 25 more NM dragon extractions I gave up on it.

Lol. I know I would fade before fighting a dragon with that build and my stats on my reaver, even If I had the amulet.
And for some reason or another I just dont like Reaver's play style. Doesnt bring as much fun to me as the Katari did.
Besides, if (and what a big if) I get that amulet i'll be too busy whirlhwind'ing all the things on Katari.

Ok got low end 2h sword was going to salvage but don't think I will. I'll just add some will power to make up for it
A wise choice!
I personally added armor penetration & more critical damage for a total of 27% armor pen. & 127% crit. damage which has worked out well as I mainly use the Reaver. If you have the Constitution to be using the Katari & Avaar regularly then the better way to go would probably be increased Attack % & critical damage.

I remember playing with Courtnehh and Kissraven just after he salvaged his 3 Hakkon weapons. Courtnehh was trying to get his 5th (the longsword), and Kissraven pulled 3 (or maybe it was 4) of them within 5 games of each other (because he just kept salvaging them). Courtnehh was practically in tears.
@Kissraven. You disgust me. ![]()

Haha, actually is was Sulaco but yea he was freaking out and ready to punch me through my Turtle Beaches...good times! ![]()
Oh and it was only 2 longswords, then 1 dagger, but what's important is that I made an offering to the RNG gods and was rewarded with all 5 again in what like a tenth of the time it took you to get the 2 hander...just saying sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. ![]()

On yeah, it was Sulaco, wasn't it? Well, it was very entertaining. Now, if you had been doing it with the Hakkon's Valor, that would have been a different story.

I am very lucky got them all in less than 50 nightmare runs. The first three very early like 15 runs... then silence then last 2 like last ten rounds.

An update since salvaging my Hakkon Dagger: I got a new one just last run. 1 point better damage than the old one, still one point below max...might have to go again ;D

This is what I was doing through the threatening matches, with Boon of the Spoon of course. There were no shield guys that weekend, so it was just charge and WW all day.
