You're right, the damage difference isn't that great on its own, but that small difference multiplies itself for every stack of Reave you apply AND for every additional enemy you hit in your Reave radius.  I understand what you're saying, and I agree - if you're using a big shotgun or other weapon damage build, Rank 6A doesn't make much sense.  In fact, Rank 6A doesn't make much sense for any build, EXCEPT if you're going for an maxed Reave DOT-based build.

Sure. One other thing to consider is the faction: if you only play Collectors, or Reapers, then 6a is probably quite solid. 6a with a power amp IV would probably make a HUGE difference against Collectors- all that barriers/armor. But not so much against Geth or Cerberus, so you've given up quite a bit (armor bonus gear slot, etc.) for a damage boost that only registers at all against a couple of units in the whole faction.

on plat 6a will always be better ... i m to lazy to do some math, but i could bet money on 30% more damage in average

Up Close and Personal

I assume majority of people spec out of pull, but I find very useful especially on those pesky wave 1 gold matches. I am sure many BSNers know the pain of running into a spawn to have 3 assault troopers mow you down in 1/2 a second. Not only that even against shield targets is causes a stagger to get in close enough for lulz reegar or throughout your sphere for a BE.

Actually, 6A is pretty outstanding against Cerberus too.  Yeah, they have a ton of shielded enemies, but the only real threats are Phantoms and Dragoons*, and 6A is awesome against them.  Phantoms especially.  If you see a Phantom in the distance, a single Reave will drop their barriers before they can even get close to you (giving zero f***s about their BS damage reduction) and continue to "highlight" them after they cloak, making it easy to take them out with your gun or Pull.  Atlases can be tedious with no shield damage bonuses of any kind and no double hits, but they are easy to drop a bubble on, so that helps.

6B is always going to be better against Geth though, regardless of setup.

I didn't mean/say it'd be useless against Cerberus, but its clearly less effective vs Cerberus than either Reapers or Collectors due to their relative lack of armor and barriers. And Geth even more so. Now, obviously that's not the only power evo that is more effective vs. some units or factions than others, but its still a relevant consideration.
