What part of my post are you referring to?
"Which means that people will have to buy a second non-transferable game to get what they're missing."

That's what I thought.
Of course no one is obligated to do anything.
I was implying that if the GOTY got cheaper than the DLCs during the next sale, those who want these at a reasonable price would not find a better opportunity than to buy the GOTY, which means that they would be buying the game a second time.
Nobody has to purchase anything. One chooses to purchase, wait, or pass as they wish.
You are so wrong, we MUST purchase all of the DLC's. Its the only way to be able to wait the several years until DA4 is released.
People aren't asking for rewards. They are asking to be charged fairly for the same product.
When you bought all the DLC, the price was the same for everyone.
Now if I want the DLC, it's $55 whereas all the DLC + the base game is $60.
To me this means BioWare is saying that the newcomer can have the DLC for $20, maybe $30 if you are stretching it, if they also buy the base game. I already did what they want (bought the base game) but they still want to charge me $55.
This difference is egregious and I will buy nothing.
Good for you; take that stand against others getting a break for waiting. As for myself, am content with the DLC I have currently. Both are happy... or whatever passes for that when one is choosing the former option.
Awesome, you are all for giving a break to the people who waited!!
Well, I waited to purchase all the DLC for when they offer a bundle. So now I don't understand why you only support people who waited to buy the entire game, while you do not support the people who waited to buy just the DLC?
Actually, 0.88€. This morning, anyway. For every company, $1 equals 1€.

What I meant is that even though $1 = 0.88€, games are sold like $1 = 1€.

The GotY edition isn't being marketed to those who bought the game already, anymore than the DAO ultimate edition was marketed to those who'd bought the game already. And I sure as hell don't remember this kind of insanity when that came out.
We were charged fairly. Everyone who bought the game prior to the GotY release had the opportunity to buy the dlc. It isn't as if say, Trespasser came out only in the GotY edition. You had access so you could buy any or all the dlc as you wish.

That's not the point. The point is about the price which people are willing to pay.
You don't want the game and the DLC at that price, you wait 1 year and get the GOTY.
You don't want the DLC at that price, you wait 1 year after the game is out and get... to wait some more.
Maybe we're getting worse?

Or pick up the DLC when it was on sale like JoH.
And like descent?
Deal with it. You do have a choice. You paid a price for the game. That price never guaranteed you DLC. DLC was always expected to be an extra charge. If you didn't consider that when you bought the game, that's your concern. The GotY edition is a different product. It has a different guarentee about content.
Those of us who bought the game in the last year knew, or should have, that the dlc that came out would be an extra charge. But it was a choice. You're also making a choice to wait some more.
So the middle ground of getting "upgrade to GOTY" bundles is not to be considered?
Stop telling us "you don't have the right to demand anything".
We're just here to make a request, no need to come in force just to say "pay the overpriced DLCs like us or leave, we're wiser".
The GOTY is not a different product. It's a bundle with a fat discount with no real justification as you can't buy the DLCs without the game.
The whole question becomes how the activation code for the GOTY works, then. We need to talk to someone who actually bought the thing.
I'd be kind of surprised if they were separate codes. The GOTY would put a bunch of used base games into the market if they were separate, and it looks to me like EA figures they can have all the sales at that price point for themselves.
Did a little checking with the PS4 and XBOXone versions. The physical version of the GOTY edition comes with the standard game on disc (with product code) and a redeem code for the dlc to be downloaded from the different networks.
The PC does not have a physical version of the GOTY yet.
The only thing that's changed is that I don't think you can sell your copy of the base game if you buy the GOTY later, while you could do that with DA:O. (In theory, anyway. I still have my DA:O disks someplace.) Someone who bought a couple of the DLCs still would have had to buy them again.Honestly though, I don't know what's changed.
DAIs DLCs are more expensive, but they are all much bigger in scope than DAO's DLCs. In terms of of playtime, new environments, and new stuff.
Edit: Unless we're talking item packs. I think spoils packs are overpriced for what they provide.
So the main 3 DLCs provide an experience equivalent to any 45€ game (like DAI)?
