And Zevran tries to kill you.... Mutilply times. Yeah, I don't like Zevran to be honest. That backstabber stabbed me in the back... Nope, not my thing. In RL I would've killed him. And In my first playthroughs I did.

If you have low approval, I believe he tries twice. If higher, he only does the once, and doesn't betray you. The first time was just a job to him, and if you never become a real ally to him, he "betrays" you because you're just a job not finished to him, I suppose.

Morrigan is a far more "problematic" romance, especially since she actually approves of you hurting other people out of pure maliciousness. So, I would think a Servis-like romance would be more like Morrigan than Zevran. Servis not a good guy. Morrigan, also not such a good woman.

That pretty much sums up how my Warden and Morrigan fell in love.  He enjoyed hurting people and she enjoyed watching him hurt people. A match made in hell...or the the lowest recesses of the fade. lol! And I actually consider them the best DA couple. Now if only I can get a M/M version of Morrigan and my Warden I would be very happy.

That in itself isn't enough to make the relationship between PC and Morrigan "problematic".

Someone evil like Viconia in Baldur's Gate 2, who disapproves when you do nice things. :D

If we get evil LIs again, please don't do the cliched "love turns them good" story line. Morrigan, Jack, Viconia, Zeveran, etc. all got this to an extent.

As other have said, Bishop from NWN 2 is a very good example of an evil LI that stays true to their nature.

She giggles at the sight of the Warden threatening to beat up a priestess.

Really. Even ol' Loghain was a nicer person than DAO Morrigan, ha ha.

And that's your prerogative. But one could also take the pragmatic approach and say that you need all the help you can get to stop the Blight. There's not really a right or wrong way to RP it.

This is pretty much the reason I let him join in the first place. Despite his other flip remarks during that conversation, he does make some really good arguments if you choose to go through all of the dialogue options.

And uh... sorry for derailing the thread into a thing about Zevran o_O.

It's been awhile, so I've may just have forgotten, but when does Morrigan want you to be malicious for it's own sake? I recall her being pragmatic and eschewing altruism. She also takes a "they made their bed, now let them lie in it" or even a "put them out of their misery" attitude with the Circle mages.

Qun00 posted an example of it. There is no pragmatic reason for my Warden to threaten to beat the snot out of a priestess.  She also got a kick out of how I treated the folks in Lothering, namely the woman and the seller.  But overall, Morrigan isn't completely malicious for no reason, she does offer up reasons for her choices and my Warden happened to agree with a lot of them anyway. They were pretty much two peas in a pod.

That was in reference to the person who was saying that Zevran was bad, evil, untrustworthy, something like that. If Zevran is bad, so is Morrigan, possibly Sten even, so long as we're using morality as a scale for bad.

I still want an "evil" LI, and one who remains true to their values (or lack thereof). I guess I just miss being able to have more control over my character's destiny, and their ability to shape the world. I like how in Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR and even DAO, you could be evil. However, I'd want complex evil, not just ***hole evil, and I'd want an evil lover by my side--a dark, delicious love.

It's partly this.

Another part is she's lived under Flemeth's direct influence her whole life and this is her first time away from her mother for a significant amount of time. Since Flemeth indoctrinated her to believe in stupid evil Social Darwinist values--that only strength and power have any value, and that anyone who shows any kindness, altruism, or sentimentality is automatically weak, stupid, inferior, and deserves to rot--now that Morrigan's out on her own for the first time she thinks she should put that philosophy into practice.

If you're a good-alighened character who somehow manages to befriend or romance her, and gently question her views (not rudely demand answers or rebuke the ones she gives) she'll start to waver on her view, and by the three-year time skip in Witch Hunt and seven-year time skip in DAI after that Morrigan mellows out at least a bit no matter what, meaning that most of her stupid evil values in DAO were just the direct influence of her mother.

For some reason, I'm curious how a spirit or demon romance would go if that's even possible.

When first I summoned her, she was a rose,
Unwithering, unchanging, and unthorned,
A spirit of the purest love one knows,
Who never hated, coveted, or scorned.

A second time I drew her 'cross the Veil,
And shared a walk, a dance, a stolen kiss;
With such a perfect beauty, pure and pale,
No woman could compare, no man resist.

Then in my weakness I essayed a third,
Tho' magisters their warnings did impart.

She broke my binding with a single word,
And said this smiling as she clutched my heart:
"Though love I was, your passion's changing fire
Has forged this spirit into cruel Desire."

That's how a spirit romance would go.

I would like a complicated scoundrel for a LI, one that is a bit darker in nature than Isabela or Zev but still charming. Someone who knows who he is and embraces it. Any class will do.

I would love to see a male Morrigan-analogue - a mysterious mage with secrets and goals of his own and some obscure magical knowledge, who doesn't care much about others and has a streak of pragmatism. Morrigan is my favorite Bioware companion/NPC/LI, but I prefer to play (straight) female characters, so such a character would be perfect as an LI.

So... Solas? XD

He does care about people but his goals seem to, err... overshadow that particular aspect of his personality. Otherwise he seems right on the money.

I'm not sure he really applies, since we only find out about his goals at the end of Trespasser. Throughout the main game, he seemed as altruistic as anyone else in the party, and never advocated a choice based on pragmatism or personal gain, unlike Morrigan.

Zevran was never "bad" to begin with; as to his career as an assassin, it doesn't exactly stop. He goes on to murder half the Crows

Morrigan also never turns "good"? I don't think? Morrigan is always Morrigan. I don't think her core values change. If anything changes her, it's becoming a mother. Which makes sense.

Jack is just ahhhhh *closes eyes and shakes head* well, let's not think about Jack :P

I still don't get how Sten isn't the worst of the bunch! and Some have said releasing him gives him a chance to atone; why should he get to atone?! He murdered like nine people in cold blood lol I would be too afraid to let that monster go free!

Yesss make him bi so everyone can romance him <3 Emo boy mage

If we do get a chance for more evilish or anti-hero companions I hope we get two. One is the constant theme throughout the Dragon Age Franchise, the bad Mage companion. I'm down with a true no apologies Tevinter pro slave, pro everything horrible in Tevinter type Magister. And I would also want to get another that is more of a sinister dark Rogue type. Doesn't have to be an assassin just someone mundane, perhaps Fade touched by a powerful Demon or the anti Cole with diabolical personality and goals.

I want a blind mage. Male of female, I'd prefer female personally. I've always wondered how a blind mage (from birth) experiences the fade. I also think having a companion with a severe disability would be interesting. Romance is just added bonus I guess lol.

Plus one on the disability but NOT as a companion. Because if there were a companion you just know they'd have some magical whatever that almost completely obviates having the disability in the first place. And there are few things in this world that annoy me more than giving a character a disability only to take away the difficulties and challenges of the disability by handing them some magical get-out-of-wheelchair free card. So adviser with a disability plus maybe romance bonus Bioware pls.

Good point, also kudos to BioWare for giving our inquisitors a disability and then not "magically" healing them. It's one of the few reasons I'd be interested in continuing their story in the next game.

Having finally played Nier this year, I wouldn't mind a character like Kaine as a hetero romance. The personality, not the fan service appearance (but I wouldn't mind it either :) )

http://nier.wikia.com/wiki/Kain%C3%A9

A foul-mouthed berserker that threatens to rip out a boss monster's eyes and ****** in their sockets.

Honestly, I probably just miss Jack.

Yes. She ran away from me (my poor Male Cousland) during my last playthrough where I was a bit of a dick. :) so yeah, I know. Servis? I thought Servis was a bit of a coward becuase he offered to bride my Inquisitor. So no, out of anyone in DAI, I would love a Sir Barris. Ser Barris... Is just too amazing not to be romanced. Then there's a older woman like Warden Commander Clarel (we have yet to romance an older woman, and even though Clarel may be a bit of idiot, she is a older woman and she's pretty epic when she's waltzing over Ermonds cowardly butt like a tropper.)
